Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. My expectations were high, considering I paid $32 USD for this beer-- more even than I paid for a bottle of 2011 St Bon Chien Grand Cru! Poured a cloudy copper colour with a modest off white head, no lacing. Surprisingly spicy profile, not quite Christmas proportions, but in that direction. Mellow dried fruits, caramel. Enjoyable, but not possessing complexity or enjoyability worth $32 (not even close). alexsdad06 (10583) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 14, 2013
Bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium sized fluffy yellow beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, dark fruit, dates, herbal/spicy notes and some Belgian yeast. Interesting beer. Tmoney99 (14752) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex dark fruit, spice and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium fruit and spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer

750 ml bottle shared by b3shine- thanks, Beau! Pous a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of mixed spices, lots of fruits, caramel, and leaves. Figs stand out. The flavor is the same. Has a lot of Belgian quality to it. Medium-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Nice beer. Opens something new every time you bring it up to your nose or mouth. b3shine (9016) - Indiana, USA - DEC 30, 2012
750 ml bottle to snifter (Thanks Secret Santa). Looks good; a mostly opaque amber with off-white lacing. Smells solid; dark fruit, candy, malt, and Belgian yeast. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. I like this beer!

Bottle. Christmas 2012. Pours muddy brown. Nose and taste of caramel toffee, fig, spices, dark fruit and nuts. Heavy on the malt. Slightly less than medium body. A little sticky. No noticeable alcohol. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2012
’11 version. Enjoyed from bottle as part of Delilah’s winter beer tasting in Chicago, IL. Excited to try this after hearing the unique political situation of which this brewery operates. Appearance is a moderate dark gold with a thin bubbly white head. Aroma very malty with a strong spice component. Taste its pretty good, rich in spice with hints of clove, powerful yeast, rich malts. Good job, prisoners. nuplastikk (6360) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 29, 2012
750ml at Maxs. Lots of depth, still odd..too many ingredients? Unfiltered burgundy brown. Some berry flavors, but very sweet and malt centered still. Vinous balance, restrained carbonation. Could use a little more bright citrus to even it out. Berry dopplebock Italian style. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 1, 2012
750ml Bottle: Aroma of dried fruit, raisins, plums, honey, malt, yeast, and spices. Poured brown/very deep amber in color with a small, loose, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny and small-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, dark ripe fruit, raisins, and slight spice. Medium body. Dry, lightly chalky texture. Average to slightly lively carbonation. Malt, dark ripe fruit, raisin, slight spice finish. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout. Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2012
A hazed dark amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light sweet fruity ester with light spices. In mouth, an oxidized malt with cardamom, coriander, tea extract, not bad. Sampled at Bierkraft, Dec. 27 2011.
