Cloudy light amber color, dull hue, with no head; the bottle opened with no hiss. Barnyard aroma, leather, cobwebs, malt .Moderate acidity for a Lambic, soft mouthfeel, strong cellar flavor, a bit of acetic acid; I got a light cheesy note initially, but that disappeared. I’m not sure I’m getting pear, but there is a light fruity touch.
500mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber orange with a tiny off-white head. Nose smells like an authentic lambic, with a lovely barnyard funk and leather quality upfront, followed by lightly acidic pears. Flavour isn’t quite as authentic, with lots of leather upfront, followed by some barnyard notes, and highly acidic pears, that even have some sweetness. Near-flat carbonation. Bottle. Thanks to KyotoLefty. Fruity nose, with a good stink, sort of lambic nose. Clear medium straw, no head. Tart light fruit (pear), vinegary tang / the sharpness intensifies through mid and even finish. Moderately astingent, that sharp tang really holds the tongue. Very good. Bottle, gift from Mortlach. Fragrant nose of pear, citrus, yogurt, dust, leather. Orange-colored and flat. Sour, citrus flavor, light pear, lactic elemtns, sweetness in the middle. Tastes like an authentic Belgian lambic. Just of a touch of pear flavor. I would guess they got the base from Girardin. Great.

Bottle at CBC - Clerkenwell, London during Bruce’s 30th Birthday Party. Many thanks to Colin. Pours a very murky gold with a light, white cream head. Big musty pear nose, some sweat and funk. Medium to big sweet flavor with rotting pear, fruity sugars and light tang. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with sour pear, light sweat, further funk, ripe fruit sweetness. Hazed orange amber with little in the way of a head.
Nose is tarte apples, pears, wood, light burnt notes.
Taste comprises tarte and soured fruits, apples, pears, wooden notes, touch of smoke and some spice.
Medium bodied, minimal carbonation, dry and tarte in the finish.

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th, thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy golden with pretty much no head. The nose is sour apple, pear juice, lactic, light honey and ,apple chutney. The taste is acidic, rasping tartness, cider, sour apple, sweet pear, earth, light spice, oak and white grape skin with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. At a tasting, thanks, hazy lightish orange colour, aroma of leather, wood detergent and mustard seeds, light fruity flavour and lots of varnish, quirky bitterness. Easy to drink and not too extreme, but where is the pear?
