Clear bleached straw color with a fuzz of head and streaks of lace. This is straight unadulterated pilsner - light malt with a good dose of floral hops to finish. No extras, no adulteration, just the basic ingredients prescribed by brewing "laws." Very drinkable. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Bottled. Poured clear, quite pale golden with a short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma picked up a bit of skunk over honey and some bready malts.. earthy undertones. The flavor skipped the skunk and had light, crisp bready malts and wheaty notes at the core.. lemon zest and herbal bitterness around.. finished dry with tangy lemon, black pepper, and residual graininess. Light-bodied and dry on the palate.. prickly carbonation.. OK feel and flow. wlajwl (7065) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Aroma is bready malts and a tinge of hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a dry finish. Not really great but decent enough for a session. Mariusz (12080) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2012
Pale, brief frothy head. Dry papery taste, not exciting at all. Not bad, but very dry. drowland (9057) - Georgia, USA - APR 16, 2012
4/16/12. 12oz bottle. Skunk hits the nose as soon as the top is popped. Ugh. Super clear light golden (very light golden) pour with a small off-white head that fades and laces a tiny bit. Huge skunk in the aroma with grainy pils malt, hay, and a touch of a hop bite. Grainy, bready flavor with a bit of corn chips and a zesty hop bite. Meh.

Crystal clear yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Strong aroma of grain and hay. High carbonation, active mouthfeel. Flavor is grassy with grain/hay. Strong aftertaste. This is pretty true to style and is pretty good except for the rough finish. Bierkrug (2129) - - AUG 11, 2011
330 ml bottle at home in Germany and picked up at Wasanas. Pours the normal bubbley Pils gold color with a fast to go white head. Aroma is strong pils like hops. Taste is great example of a good crisp German Pils. Ending is a bit bitter for my taste but a very well made Pils. Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 21, 2011
Starker hopfig-herber Geruch.

Aroma is very metallic with some pale malt and a hint of noble hops.
Taste is also very metallic up front, with leafy hop bitterness in the swallow, and peppery noble hops in the finish. Malts are barely detectable. I find that brewing with hard water seems to put a harsh edge on the hop character of the finished beer, and I definitely get that here. This may help Bischoff stand up against rich saucy foods better than other pilseners, but for me, makes it less enjoyable alone.
Bottle. Poured a clear golden color with a moderate frothy white head that lasted and had good lacing. Moderate grass hop aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture soft carbonation. Medium grass hop bitter flavor with a medium bitter dry finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.
