355ml - Clear pale gold, nice lace. Skunky Eurolager from start to finish. Refreshingly watery, hoppy goodness. BREWMUSKCLES (2744) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 6, 2007
looks light pale and weak. it is a classic decent German pilsner. a tad light in substance. it tastes of new young grass rather than flowery. slightly bitter finish that lasts. clean and refreshing. i would say a touch lemony like a pez candy. Pours a pale golden color w/ a medium sized froth. Decent hangtime receding to a fluffy downy canopy that just sits there. Nice! Aromas of sweet malts and mild hopsy flowering. Medium nectar w/ ample redsidual effers creates a cotton cream texture. Superb balance is noticed right away. Tastey malts and a defined hop profile. Crisp, clean, and refreshing w/ a slight lemony citrus twitch. The finish is bittered perfectly leaving the palate dry and slightly parched. Lingering citrus rind flavors persist long afterwards. Highly reommended. ABUSEDGOAT (2850) - California, USA - JUL 25, 2007
Got this bottle literally the day it came to the beer store, so it’s not gonna get any fresher. Clear golden, fairly large head, some lacing and retention. Aroma is grass, straw, light skunk, a touch of bread. Light bodied, moderate to high bitterness. Just not a great example, I dunno what else to say. jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - JUL 6, 2007
From a 12 oz. narrow neck green bottle, an unmarked best before date on the back label, sampled in a pilsener glass.
Poured a clear pale, pale yellowish golden with a two finger high white head, good retention, slowly dissipates into a thin lacing.
A nose of sulfur lager yeastiness, lightly grainy and floral.
A firm light body, dry and crisp, thin sweet pilsener malts, slightly grainy, once again, sulfur yeastiness, a subtle herbal hoppiness that becomes nicely spicy at the end, a dry, crisp, clean finish. Not bad, not great, a refreshing summertime pilsener, easy to drink.
I like this pilsener, but in my area, nearly $9 for a six, so I won’t be a regular buyer of this. I can get the Lakefront, Millstream or Schlafly pilseners for less than that, plus I also prefer them to this German pilsener.
