Bottle shared by my brother. Clear brown in color with a medium beige head. Aroma of grainy malt, raisin, strawberry and slight pine. Malty flavor with caramel and fruit before a piney, minty finish. deaconmike (470) - Roswell, Georgia, USA - FEB 11, 2014
Bottle. Pours translucent dark reddish brown. Aroma is toasted malt, earth, cereal, nutty, some dark fruit notes. There’s a lot going on here flavor-wise; moderately sweet. Medium body, soft carbonation. Decent beer. jonas (8280) - Garching close to the monks, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2013
Bottle. Red chestnut, low brown head. Roast, light smoke notes, caramelized and nutty notes, good bitter and aromatic hop finish. Fullbodied, dry. Moreish. jbruner (5466) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Pours a translucent brown on task with thin tan head that dissipates to leave light lacing. Aroma is German yeast, sweet malt, and associated dark fruit esters. Taste is dark fruits and toasted malts, with a lingering burnt caramel flavor. Meh. Steverus0 (332) - Shreveport, Louisiana, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Nice dark caramel to garnet in color with a head that wears a little too quickly. A little bitter for a doppelbock (for my taste), this German brew nonetheless has a pleasant and full malty character that lingers on the palate.

Pours a dark ice tea color into a pilsner glass with a 2 finger head than lingers quite a bit. Interesting nose of root beer and sweet malts. Taste has some sweetness/cola up front with some mlt but has a really strong alcohol finish that I didn't much enjoy. So-so.

A - Pours a ruby dark brown. 2 finger off-white head.
S - Old bread with a sweet and sour malt. Burnt toffee. Dark cherries. Musty grain. Very earthy overall.
T - Toffee malt, pumpernickel crust. Sour grain adds an interesting twist. Raisins, toasted walnuts. Complex malt. It takes on completely different characteristics with varying temperatures. Muted red apple, pear and green grass
This is a very mysterious and complex Dopplebock. I can smell and taste the traveling miles in this beer. I can’t even begin to unravel the flavors. I think it makes for a very interesting take on the Dopplebock style. Don’t pass this up. It’s a trip.

500ml bottle [as "Doppelbock", thanx Roman]. Clear deep reddish glowing brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Dark malty aroma with a cautious caramel note, hoppy overtones. Taste is moderately dry dark malty. Expressionless, slightly boring Doppelbock. Pours reddish amber with a thin off-white head. Notes of sweet, candied malt, toffee, lightly bitter, chewy. Medium to full bodied, sweet with lively carbonation. wlajwl (7211) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Aroma is grainy/almost wheat-like malts and a hint of earthiness. The flavor is barley/wheat malts, mild/medium sweetness and a hint of caramel in the finish.
