(old notes) Bottled as Bischoff Premium Doppelbock in FL. Clear brown pour with a large, lasting white head. A lot of roasted malts, burnt sugar, dried fruit in the aroma. Taste is sweet up front, malty, a little alcohol kick at the end. Very drinkable. rbrazell (1763) - Florida, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Deep amber pour with a light tan head. Aroma is toasted maltiness and lots of sugary sweetness. Flavor is melanoidin sugars, toffee, and toast. Medium light bodied and sweet throughout. Blah, not for me. Chudwick (3367) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - OCT 12, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2013 rerated on July 5th, 2013. 11.2oz bottle - pours light brown with tan head and thin lacing. Nose is toasty and nutty. Flavor adds a general maltiness. Moderately sweet with a light bitter finish. Hides the 7.5% ABV fairly well. Better than I remember it.
(10/12/2012) 12oz bottle - pours dark amber with a finger of off white head and decent lacing. Nose is caramel, pilsner hops and dough. Flavor adds cereal. Taste is sweet and a little bitter. Smoky or roasted aftertaste. Thin body. Sticky mouthfeel. Now I know why it was so cheap, especially for an import. glennmastrange (2921) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted grain and nutty, light herbs, dough and meat for the hops and yeast with brown sugar, date and other dark dried fruit, and marzipan. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with a few spots of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear medium brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and acidic, and finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, a little slick with a lively carbonation and finishes dry. Another nice smooth beer from Bischoff, but a fairly light Doppelbock.

Dark, boozy malt aroma with German/continental hops. Green bottle, OK label, ruby black/brown beer with a thin bone head. Slightly astringent up front, then it smooths out. A bit of molasses, moderately sweet, grainy roast flavors, alcohol bitterness. Medium density, oily mouthfeel, warming finish with molasses aftertaste. Fair enough. on tap as Doppelbock-pours dark copper with an offwhite head. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel/peat, some medium/dark fruit. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel/peat, medium/dark fruit, spice hop bite. Mariusz (12080) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - MAY 30, 2012
Pours brown with light/medium carbonation and a thin off-white head. Malty and full bodied, some sweet dark sugars, bit sticky, some toffee good stuff Oakes (18828) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 19, 2012
Draught, as Bischoff Doppelbock. Medium brown colour. Slightly fruity sugar aroma. Sweet sugary taste with some fruity character but this isn’t rich like a tropical sugar. So in that respect, it is less than ideal, but if you start to think of it as a tropical stout rather than a doppelbock your opinion improves. I liked this. The nose is very bready like freshly baked rolls. The beer is dark brown with a thick cream head. The taste is breaxy with notes of dark fruit and a touch of clove like spice. The beer is very smooth and clean. The body is medium thick.
