4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Where to start? 22oz. bottle poured into pint glass. Deep black color, like motor oil, only not as thick. Nice creamy, frothy head. Aroma exploding with chocolate and roasted malts. Like a nice double mocha from my favorite coffee shop (Tiny’s). As soon as I put the glass up to my mouth, it and my nose are filled with chocolate. But not dark chocolate, rich coco powder. One part Nestle Quick, one part Godiva. Full chewy body, mouth-coating feeling is wiped clean be a balanced carbonation level. This beer kept it’s flavor in my mouth for for a long time after each drink. It was a rich flavor of a dark chocolate truffle rolled in coco powder, then washed down with a shot of esspresso. Highly recommend this beer. Lost a point due to the fact that there were some chunks floating in my glass after the pour. Wow, what a beer!
Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is not a huge chocolate but I am getting a large cinnamon. Flavor is again a very minor bitter chocolate with some ashy malt. This was a bit too thin and not enough chocolate stood out. nimbleprop (8600) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - SEP 11, 2017
12oz bottle pours a muddy dark cola brown with some spitty, brown head. Nose has toast, roasted grains, some chocolate, cakey. Flavor is heavy with the roast and toast, cocoa powder. Dry finish. djd07 (15293) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 24, 2016
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small tan head. The aroma is roast and bready malt. Thin mouth and watery, light roast and cocoa, not much going on with this one. brucebruce81 (391) - GUAM - APR 11, 2016
This was a very good stout it was smooth, dark and had a great smooth head. I was impressed with how smooth it was.

Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Didn’t pick up much chocolate and was hoping for that since I’m not too keen on the Dry Stout genre.

Bottle at the hotel room in San Diego. Black beer with a small head. Roasted chocolate aroma, licorice, coffee, cocoa powder, caramel, earthy notes, some biscuits. Roasted chocolate flavor, tar, coffee, kinda bitter, hay notes, some tar. A bit too heavy on not so good coffee. Liked the aroma though. Rperez (265) - Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2015
This beer is lacking something, its not horrible just weak, not enough alcohol or just not enough stout flavor overall

Bison Organic Chocolate Stout has a thick, beige head, a very dark brown (almost black) appearance, with heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of dark coffee, cream, bitter chocolate, and rich, dark-roasted malt. Taste is of acidic, strong coffee, chicory, cream, bitter chocolate nibs, and dark malt. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Bison Organic Chocolate Stout finishes semi-wet and drinkable. RJT tsd08460 (1210) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - JUL 11, 2015

Bomber poured into a pint, black with a light brown head decent lacing. Chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa powder, dark fruit, roasted flavor with toast, burnt nut and bitter chocolate notes. A good dose of bitterness counteracts the cocoa leading to a dry finish with a subtle tinge of hops. This stout taste a lot better when served at room temp.
