Before brewing our classic summer ale, we went to the certified organic farmers market to go shopping. The fresh basil is from Watanabe Farms in West Sacramento and the Honey is from Britts Honey, two California artisanal producers. This brew is subtle and refreshing. Starting in 2012, Honey Basil Ale will be a year round offering in 4 packs.

Brought back from Vegas by Lilihel. Pours a clean dark amber colour with an off-white head, good retention and thick lacing. Wow ! What a beautiful nose. Maybe because I am a big basil fan. Yes, basil smell with a little sweetness from the honey in the background. Hints of alcohol and ginger. The taste is not as sweet as expected with the organic malt forefront. Then, some lightly rusty hop. Cant say I am a fan of the flavours though. Great original aromas and style !!

Rating #1977 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 78 - Draught at Taphouse Grill. Pours a golden straw colour with a white foam that bubbles away quickly. Aroma is basil leaf, wildflower honey/ Taste is quite smooth, light wheat ale qualities, mild sweetness, with a punch of sweetness, and the herbal coolth of basil leaves. A refresher.

Pours a thin head on a hazy dark straw body. The aroma is basil, honey and lemon. Nice. The taste is harsh basil, lemon and a little honey. Not great. The texture is crisp. It smells great but the flavor has too much basil.

355ml bottle. Golden pour. Aroma is herbal basil, some malt. Flavor is okay, basily, not super dry, if you like basil try it.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a small foamy beige head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty, bready and sweetish with basil and honey notes. The flavor was bitter and bitey with a strong basil presence. Very long basil finish. Medium body. Interesting but the basil gets overwhelming.

Hazy copper with almost no head full sweet aroma. Sweet and vaguely herbal. Bit of lemon. Medium bodies and nearly flat, could be past its age. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ok beer from Bison. The basilaftertaste (and aroma once the beer warmed) worked surprisingly well, but the light (ie-watery) honey ale flavor, while refreshing, was a touch generic and left me wanting a little more. not bad, though."

Bottle. Light bread and grain for the malt, hearbs and soap for the hops and yeast, with a faint hint of honey. Head is small, fizzy, off-white withno lacing and is fully lacing. Color is hazy medium amber/orange. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes slightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a fizzy carbonation. Nothing standesout much in the this Honey beer, but it very drinkable.
