COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Before brewing our classic summer ale, we went to the certified organic farmer’s market to go shopping. The fresh basil is from Watanabe Farms in West Sacramento and the Honey is from Britt’s Honey, two California artisanal producers. This brew is subtle and refreshing. Starting in 2012, Honey Basil Ale will be a year round offering in 4 packs.

bhensonb (15617) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 7, 2007
Aroma of lemon, honey and herb. Slightly hazy gold color with a very large white head. Thin to medium body with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is spicey, with basil (but not like fresh basil) and there is an underlying honey note. Rather dry, slightly bitter. Decent drink, though rather unusual.

Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 23, 2010
A murky reddish copper ale with virtually no head. A herbal malt aroma with light basil and smooth honey notes. In mouth, a rather bland and watery herbal malt, not much basil, dryish honey, boring. Bottle at Datz, May 24 2010.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 6, 2006
(22oz bottle) Crystal clear apple juice body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, honey, orange blossom, light basil. Taste is mild sweet, basil, light grassy. Light-medium body with a very dry finish.

Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2009
12 ounce bottle grom Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, honey, lime, spicy basil finish. Basil is strong in the taste... with honey and caramel notes. Nice and spicy. I suddenly crave mozzarella. Medium bodied. Interesting beer, and well done.

crossovert (13730) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2015
355ml bottle. Golden pour. Aroma is herbal basil, some malt. Flavor is okay, basily, not super dry, if you like basil try it.

slowrunner77 (12591) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
ok beer from Bison. The basilaftertaste (and aroma once the beer warmed) worked surprisingly well, but the light (ie-watery) honey ale flavor, while refreshing, was a touch generic and left me wanting a little more. not bad, though."

2.8
deyholla (12032) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 8, 2009
Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with a honey aroma with a subtle basil undertone. Flavor is sweet with honey and notes of malts and a bit of citrus on the finish. Not much basil present on the tongue.

hopscotch (11181) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 10, 2006
Bottle... Hazy, golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Spicy, perfumey nose with notes of basil and dishwashing liquid. The flavor leans just slightly on the sweet side of balance, but lends plenty of spicy hops, basil, ginger and nutmeg. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes spicy, bitter and dry. Pretty good, but bizarre.

2.8
daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 9, 2010
Amber pour. Whitish head. Honey and a leafy aroma. I guess its basil. Flavor has some honey and caramel and some odd vegetal note...basil? I guess.
