The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Keg at Annie’s Burger Shack, Nottingham. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grain and subtle spicy, herbal hops. Taste of grain, subtle mineral and slight spicy, herbal hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A crisp and clean, spicy hop bitterness in the finish. A very simple Pilsner but crisp, clean and very refreshing.

Slightly sweet and spicy with hay and cereal aromas. Light in the mouth with an abrupt ,clean finish. Simple, smooth, well balanced and well done.

On draught at L’Osteria while out with a couple of colleagues. The pour on this baby is a near crystal clear golden yellow with a decent white head, not as fluffy as others. The soapy lace along the sides of the glass are actually pretty good looking. The aroma is just like you’d expect a pilsner to smell. There is a strong maltiness and a light citrus present on this one. The wheat and grains are present, but definitely light. The flavor is much of the same. It’s clean and light. The grains balance out and the light pilsner malt works with a touch of citrus that does well together. It just is so light that I can see crushing through these like they’re water. The mouth feel is a little watery with a lighter carbonation and a hint of metallic maltiness on the finish with a little addition of sweetness. It’s not bad at all, but it’s just very plain.

Bottled. Pours clean golden with white head. Slightly-above-average german pilsner, not outstanding with no bigger flaws. Good for quantity drinking.

0.33 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki (tasted May 19, 2017). Appearance is pale, clear and so on. Taste is malty as it should in Pilsener. There is a crisp ending from the hops. Perfect in its style.

tgrtnr (157) - Augsburg, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 31, 2017 500 ml from tap at ICE train. Ordinary golden colour but big white head. Grain, bread, citrus, hop extract. Bitter. Carbonation is soft, finish is bitter. Actually I don’t like these mass produced ’Premium Pilseners’ but it is acceptable for a quick drink.

Zaskakująco dobry pilsner. Barwa klarowna, złocista, wysycenie odpowiednie czyli dość duże. W aromacie słód, zboże. I ta goryczka, mmm... Świetny balans słodowo-chmielowy. Mega pijalne i orzeźwiające, dobra cena. Podeszło okrutnie.
