COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

When it comes to Pilseners, I generally lean towards the Czech versions as this style of beer generally doesn't do too much for me. Having said that, the Bitburger Pils is a giant amongst the style and is worthy of some attention. An surprisingly enjoyable Pilsener which is far smoother than most on the market. While the traditional hoppy characteristics of the Pils are still weigh heavily on the palette, Bitburger has an exceptional clean, almost mellow, maltiness in both its aroma and taste. Quite dry, in the same lines as the Asahi Super Dry, but far more refined. Pours a very clear, bright yellow sunshine tone, with a thick frothy head. No collar forms on this and the lacing is minimal, but that's to be expected with this style. Certainly an enjoyable brew and I can sense this one being popular sitting on the sundeck come spring and summer.

500 ml from tap at ICE train. Ordinary golden colour but big white head. Grain, bread, citrus, hop extract. Bitter. Carbonation is soft, finish is bitter. Actually I dont like these mass produced Premium Pilseners but it is acceptable for a quick drink.

Zaskakująco dobry pilsner. Barwa klarowna, złocista, wysycenie odpowiednie czyli dość duże. W aromacie słd, zboże. I ta goryczka, mmm... Świetny balans słodowo-chmielowy. Mega pijalne i orzeźwiające, dobra cena. Podeszło okrutnie.

Originally rated on 1/30/09. Kinda surprised here, a very average looking body with a very thin head, with spotty lace. Aroma was of sweet malts, flavor also had the sweet malt but it had a spice flavor from the hops, good balance.

Goldgelb, mit guter Schaumkrone. Malzig suerlicher Antrunk, metallisch, gefolgt von bitteren Hopfennoten

Average tasting pilsener, and pretty much average overall. Not terribly bitter but more than I prefer. I probably wont be drinking this again.

2016 catch up - Bought to drink with my German friend while the kids played in a lido supervised by respective wives. Its a mass produced pilsner and it left a strange sensation in my mouth after two bottles. Its not something I enjoyed.

Butelka 0,5l jasne, cierpkie, lekko goryczkowe, prawie jak pils tylko mocniejsze, piana szybko znika, d?ugi posmak.
