COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Not a big fan of pilsener but this beer is ok clean and clear medium white head. I like the bitter notes in this beer a little funky at the end.

Light with a bit of spice that added to the interest and complexity but detracted from the refreshingness. Worth getting again, but would not go out of my way to obtain.

Brewhemia (249) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 29, 2016
Very pale clear yellow with very little white head that quickly disolves. Light bread aroma and some caramel sweetness plus it has a sharpness to (maybe from the hops?) and notes of boiled cabage. The taste is light sweet and medium bitter with a quite bitter finish lingering. The cabage notes can be sensed vaguely in the flavor as well. Has quite a lot of taste for a pilsner but not all great.

From a 5 litre barrel the ever reliable bitburger pours a clear golden colour with a thick white head. A soft malty taste with not much of an aroma. A classic simple pils but not more than that but still a German quality beer.

Bottle. Crisp and clean, good body for a pils. A bit of an altbier flavor but not overpowering. Decent.

I had it on tap. It pours golden with a white head and lacing. The aroma is corn and fruit. The taste is corn malt, fruit, and grain. Its a nicely balanced pilsner.

Its been 30 years since I had this last. It hasnt changed that much. Light amber beer, nice white head, decent lace. Aroma is malt. Taste is malt, corn, light hops bitter finish. Palate is light, carbonation average. This really is an average macrolager.

Draft .5 liter poured at Shultzys. On my wander trail, thought I would pop in here and check it out. My brother lives in Germany, and is bringing me a bunch of local more rare stuff, so I want to try as many of the common beers as possible so I can pretend to know what Im talking about. I can enjoy a beer that the smallest offered pour is a half liter. A beer that states that the night is still young. A beer that you rarely drink if you arent having a good time. Im cool with it. I cant compare this beer to other beers when I rate it. Thats like comparing a legendary quarterback to a rookie that has gotten off to a good start. Poured into its own signature glass. Shiny golden pour with a lasting head. A soft aroma of straw that dares to be sweet. Flavor is crisp up front, with some plastic like grain, and a dry finish with aa bite. Everything mellow making this easy to drink. Late palate is cool, and leaves a refreshing afterthought. I cant complain to much here. If Im ordering a lager like this, I dont expect anything much more than what I have right here. Meets my criteria. A slightly less than desirable beer that I could drink all night if paired with alternate entertainment. Glad I found an opportunity to sit down and give this beer the full thought it deserves. Cant imagine Ill be going and buying bottles of this, but I will happily drink this again.
