I had it on tap. It pours a reddish brown color with no head and barely any lacing. The aroma was faint spice. The taste was strange with hints of apple and other fruit and lots of spice. It was pretty sweet. The cinnamon and nutmeg flavors are strong. The palate was thin and a little flat. Batches of this in past years have been better. jtclockwork (17654) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Draft at brewpub. Pours dirty brown with off white head. Nose and taste of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, malt and vanilla bean. Medium body. pineypower (3350) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - APR 1, 2010
Pours a clear, somewhat copper color with a tiny lacing of a head. Aroma is of some cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel and a little more spice. Taste is solid, some cinnamon, sweet caramel notes, vanilla, clove and a light earth taste as it warms a bit, big on the cinnamon flavor, but not in an offensive way. Definitely the standout of the trip there. dmac (6587) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Draft from a sampler. This was far and away the best if the six beers I tried. Deep amber body with a smaller off white head. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg over a grainy malty base. Medium bodied with a lingering aftertaste. Flavor has lots of spices up front that blend nicely over the malty body. joebudzjoe (677) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 20, 2010
At the brewery. Dark brown/black body with minimal head. Sweet smell. Cola, toffee, corn syrup notes. A little too sweet. Despite dark color, not too thick; on the thin side palate-wise. A pretty good beer.

Nice dark mahogany coloring with miles of tan head. Honestly, too much head for the style. However, the carbonation level was right where it should be, and letting it sit in my glass for a while brought everything out. Hints of coffee, chocolate, spice, etc. Lots going on here with the flavor. Medium to thinner body, with a nice bittersweet finish. Seek it out. weezfour (124) - Oradell, New Jersey, USA - APR 16, 2008
Growler me! Oh yeah, great beer. Wonderful when you are snowed in, deep in the winter. Powerful aroma, and swimming with flavor. Can’t miss this one if you have the chance. rman18 (314) - Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - JAN 30, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2009 This beer is very good... It lives up to its name. You can taste the nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and vanilla... you can certainly taste the nutmeg as it exudes this beer. Served cold... probably would be better at room temp. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 26, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2008 on tap-pours a light tan head and brown color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate, slight coffee. Taste is dark malt-chocolate (no coffee), hops bitterness. OK carbonation. Occasional.
081227- nice, malty, spice, nutmeg on the aroma. Taste follows with a balanced hop backbone.

Truly enjoyable!!! Lots of thick spiciness with nutmeg, cinnamon and other stuff. Lovely richness and very sweet. My favorite from Bittings so far.
