2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Yellow straw color. Tastes like a mouthful of hay and grain with weak hop citrus -- like a lime or lemon wedge was squeezed into it. Maybe it’s because I had an Endeavour and a Hopstorm next to this one, but I’m a regular BJ’s visitor (at least weekly, often more frequently) and this to me is the worst IPA I’ve tasted from them. My location (Pearland, TX) is promoting Field Day IPA and to my surprise, got rid of Saint Arnold Endeavour because, according to the manager "We didn’t want three IPAs from the same brewer." Ummm, Endeavour is a double IPA and a damn good one. Field day can go away, in my opinion.
Decent IPA. Faint citrus hop nose. Light golden copper color with a decent head. Strong carbonation and a light feel. Strong bitternes up front, which drops off to light malt background. Crisp and sharp. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - OCT 15, 2014
Sharp bitter aroma. Enticing. Deep hazy golden amber color. Thick, intricate lace. Delicious, shatp bitter piny and citrus flavor with a bitter malty finish. Great 3pm breakfast. RobertLiley1 (39) - - SEP 20, 2014
Not a bad IPA for a restaurant blend cloudy amber pour with nice lacing and a decent head not so bitter but decent. DialSquare (5108) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2014
On tap at the Tallahassee location. Fairly hoppy, resin, rye, grain, pine and grapefruit bitter. Strange - something I can’t put my finger on. Not bad though. - 6.8 PorterPounder (8171) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl. - on tap at the BJ’s. Murky, medium copper pour with a medium thick off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Fresh, fragrant spruce aroma with some back end floral notes. Flavor has some juicy bittersweet grapefruit notes, a hint of celery (pleasant - but odd), a touch of maple syrup. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Pretty solid IPA.

Nearly clear, light amber-brown, one finger head. Fruity malt and caramel aroma. Medium heavy bittering, fruity and a little peppery. Mouthy with a lasting woody/citrus peel bitterness at the end. Tallahassee location. ttoadee (1534) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Copper pour, creamy white head. Creamy head, nose is faint hops. Littly bitter. Middle is medium malt and some pine. Finish is bitter. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - OCT 6, 2013
On tap in Arlington. Orange pour with a small white head. Aroma is light toffee and oranges. Taste is bitter, citrus, and lots of toffee in the finish. rougeau13 (3132) - Richmond, Texas, USA - OCT 1, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2016 tap at BJs Sugar Land. Dark clear amber. Aroma of grass, toast, and florals. Taste is a touch bland but with a nice bitterness. Medium bodied. Dry. jimmie65 (330) - Texas, USA - SEP 28, 2013
This is by the far the most boring IPA I’ve ever tasted. Color is pale. Aroma is decent - floral and some spice. But there is almost no flavor at all - none of the nice hop kick you want from an IPA. And then it finished very dry with a nasty pucker.
