Pours a deep, golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Nutty, malty aroma. The flavor is very strong on the hoppy end, and it almost overpowers everything else about the beer. Leaves a bitter, hoppy pucker in the mouth. Not fantastic, but not horrible. luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 14, 2006
Had this at BJ’s Winter Ale Fest. The beer was beautiful to look at! It poured a clear medium-gold color with a small, creamy, off-white, mostly diminishing head with long, lazy, linear streams of spiraling carbonation running through the liquid. Reminded me of stars. The aroma was complex and warm: lightly malty with notes of sweet roasted grain; lightly hoppy with notes of herbs, straw and grass; moderately yeasty with compelling notes of warm bread, sunny barnyard and cellar; miscellaneous notes of coriander and honey. The flavor was lightly sweet with an average-length, lightly sweet-moderately bitter, dry finish. The body was light-to-medium, the texture was almost-creamy, the carbonation was soft and there was a light alcoholic feeling in the ending. I liked this beer very much and found it engaging on many levels. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 5, 2006
Nice, my 2nd favorite of the tasting. This one pours a little darker than ginger ale, with lots of spice and fruit in the aroma. This has everything you would want in a beginner belgian ale. Fresh and tasty. Terminus (3702) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 11, 2005

Boulder, Jan 2005. Light yellow body with a white head. Mostly clear. Spicy, sweet trippel-like candy sugar and spiced flavor. Sweet lemons and spices in the nose. Light body, watery at times. Perfumy white grapes and coriander... a light alcohol finish as well. Very drinkable.

On tap at the Broadway pub in portland. Pours a transparent amber with a medium white head. Very floral aroma, fruity, with apple and orange smells, and some herbal floral hops. This brew smells and tastes like herbal soaps smell. Very flavorful and unique, the herbal notes really bring this brew to life. Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 14, 2004
This belgian ale pours with a deep amber brown body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is sweet, malty and spicy with a slight note of dark fruit. The flavor is very similar to the aroma. Full bodied, smooth and slightly warming. BigBastard (668) - L.A., California, USA - FEB 12, 2004
Mild alcohol taste with some banana, apple and slight citrus notes. I was amazed at how smooth and easy drinking this was. I am always impressed with BJ's quality. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JAN 21, 2004
Boulder, CO (2004): Amber-orange with a slight haze to it. Fruity, alcoholic, grapefruity, vinous and strong-tasting. Had a sharp, orange peel citrusyness to it, too. Not overly complex, but enjoyable. BelgianGirl (89) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2004
This stuff is great and it is scary that it is so high in alcohol. Very fruity smell and taste, like apple juice.
