Smells like pumpkin pie! Nutmeg, pumpkin, spice. Taste is definite pumpkin, malt sweetness, a bit of bitter hoppiness but maybe not enough.

On tap at the Fort Collins location. Clear dark orange appearance with a lingering beige head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel malt, toffee and allspice. Similar flavor, light to medium body with a spiced finish. Solid pumpkin beer overall.

On tap at the Irvine location. Dark, orangish amber pour, transparent, with a thin layer of wispy beige head. A distinct clove aroma instantly grabs my nostrils, along with a bit of ginger. Some light vanilla and caramels also combine, softening up the gingerbread cookie aroma a bit. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of clove and ginger spice - I wish it had more cinnimon and nutmeg characters to give it a bit of a more traditional pumpkin pie flavor. Its rare that I complain about this aspect of a beer, buts its almost over attenuated. The dry finish makes the ginger and clove seem all the more dominant, which overpowers the caramel malt background a bit. The spices start to get a bit astringent toward the finish. Not the worst pumpkin beer I’ve ever had, but still I find them lacking. Perhaps I’m expecting a bit more sweetness to come forward and since it never does, I’m left slightly disappointed. Either way, this wasn’t a bad beer at all. Aroma is slightly vegetative, perfumy with enough nutmeg to notice. Appearance is a light amber color, off-white head. Flavor was a bit green, vegetative with some subtle cinammon and nutmeg spices to notice but not overpower. On tap at Chino Hills location. At first the beer was quite strange. A good amount of initial flavor that faded into a weird nothingness. However, it did seem to get better. [Tap] Pours a bright orange color with a small amount of white head. Nose is of clove, ginger and nutmeg. Sweet and malty in taste. Caramel and some toffee notes throughout. Typical pumpkin pie spices with a heavy emphasis on ginger. The body is a bit thin, but really not too bad. High carbonation level and easy to drink. Orange in color with a decent off-white head. Aroma is of pumpkin pie (cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice, pumpkin). Taste is the same. Just like most every other pumpkin beer out there.
