COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaboration between the brewers at BJís and the historic Caledonian Brewery in Scotland. This one-of-a-kind brew perfectly balances the rich flavors of Scottish malts and yeast with American hops.

Draft at BJs Salinas. Nose is toffee, char, citrus, and a hint of prunes. Clear light brown with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some sweet malts and a hint of smoke.

It pours an amber color with a nice head. The aroma has some floral notes and malt. Taste is pretty smooth with some malts, floral and caramel. Long finish.

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Clear light copper body under a small frothy beige head. The nose is sweet toasty malt with some nice light floral hops. The flavor is a bit thin, but it seems to allow the hops to shine a bit. Light bitter and floral with a slight citrus note on the finish. Light bodied and thin with fizzy carbonation. This wasnít necessarily a great beer, but it was clean and drinkable.

Reddish brow pour, cream colored head. Interesting mix of sweet caramel makes, citrusy hops, light peat, yeast. Easy drinker.

On tap - light brown, has a slight floral aroma. Has a biscuit malt taste. Medium dry. Not spectacular but not bad either.

BJís Hoppy Scotsman is decent but not the best in category. Moderate aroma on the back end. Pour is translucent brown with a nice head. Taste is a nice balance between hop and malt with bit of a malt aftertaste. Hoppy Scotsman is mellow version of the style that will pair well with food.

16oz sample from Natomas, CA BJs. Light peated nuttiness in the aroma. A little sweet. Hazy amber body with a small, off-yellow head present. Starts with a nutty, sweet, chewy maltiness. Lots of caramel and toffee present in this.Light roastiness late. Some coffee, too. This is quite flavorable, and better than expected.

kathouse (1874) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - JUL 3, 2014
BJís at Superstition in Mesa. Pours brown with copper highlights. A thick head. Toffee, toast, and a slight smoke aroma. Full flavors went towards sweeter caramel and toasted malts. Not quite fruity, but leaning towards it. Hops donít balance it much. Pleasant to drink, but not a shining example of the style. Yet again, Iíd drink another.

On tap at BJs in Arlington, TX. Deep amber with a decent off-white head. Aroma is of heavy malt, caramel, light smoke, herbs. Taste is of malt, dough, tree bark, herbs, and an average hop bitterness.

Poured a murky light brown with an off white head. Aroma was of caramel and earth. Flavor pretty similar, smooth overall.
