If you like oatmeal stouts then this one will not disappoint. Strong aroma of malted heavenly chocolate mixed with a light oatiness. Order it first before spoilng your palate with their others choices. jlf278 (288) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 26, 2008
On tap at BJ’s Cupertino. This one seemed like it’d be such a treat. I love oatmeal stouts, but it was just awkwardly sweet and acidic. I couldn’t get into it even for the 5 oz. taster. It wasn’t a drainpour or anything, just not my kind of stout. Maybe I should have tried it at room temp. as someone here suggests. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 23, 2008
Poured up on tap at Citrus Park, FL location. They tried to serve me this ale in a chilled glass. But they were nice enough to go in the back and bring back an unchilled tumbler. The beer coming out of the tap was still way too cold and caused the beer to taste harsh, near acidic and not at all tasty. It poured up dark brown with tan to mocha head. The aroma was a little off until it finally warmed up when I started getting some chocolate, roasty malts, a bit of burnt malts, sweet molasses, nuttiness and a touch of coffee. Again once it started to warm up it began to taste pretty darn nice with an unwavering nuttiness mixed with roasty to chocolate notes and black licorice. I also get a mild burnt maltiness to go along with a tasty sweet molasses creating a pleasing balance. The oatmeal creamy mouth feel was only just there in the end due to the slightly over carbonation and being served generally too cold. Do yourself a favor and order this in a room temp glass and twenty minutes before you’re ready to drink it. If not it will taste like crap!! Get a clue BJs. alexsdad06 (10396) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 12, 2008
Tap at Cincy location. Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with a sweetness from the oatmeal and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is drier than the nose may suggest. Pretty average roasted malt, oatmeal, and a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied, nothing is really jumping out at me with this one.

Dark brown with a tan head that fades quickly but leaves a nice speckled lacing behind. Big roasted malt and coffee smell with some pecans in there too. Flavor is watery malt with a slight roasty finish. Super high and unfitting carbonation - almost soda like. Very thin and has an underplayed flavor. Pepsi flavor and palate appear as it warms a little. The smell was so nice I was imagining the taste to be as bold as the smell. But overall, very drinkable and one of the better ones at BJs.
Pours black, with tan head. Smell is really strong and charred, roasty ashy dark malt. Taste is similar with very dark, borderline burnt roasty malt and an ashy finish. Carbonation is too high and prickly however. Softens as it warms, and the flavor is pretty nice, but no oatmeal creamy smoothness. Overall, definitely one of the better if not best BJs beers I’ve had.
