poured black but had no head (dirty glass?). sweet scents of oats mixed with bitter coffee. taste sweetish with coffee and roasted malt. Again... the beer was freezing and probably a lot better when served correctly. Ratman197 (14830) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 14, 2008
On tap @ BJ’s Westminster poured a translucent black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and light chocolate with a smooth lingering roasty finishTheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 9, 2008
Not bad but a fairly one dimensional beer.
Pours pitch black with a mostly receding tan head. Aroma of mild roast, chocolate, and foamy malt. Taste is light chocolate and smooth oatmeal. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very mild tasting, a bit boring. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - MAR 5, 2008
On tap @ BJ’s (Tucson) - Pours a dark brown color with a thin light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and faint coffee. Flavor is much of the same. Palate is quite dry. Light to medium body. A decent beer. DoubleBubble (107) - Mescal Lakes (wherever that is), Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2008
Pours a deep brown with a fine tan head. Very little lacing. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, with roasted malts. Flavors of basically the same. A little bitter. A decent somewhat smooth beer, but not as smooth as most oatmeal stouts.

Draft at BJs Oxnard; nose of brown sugar and coffee; hazy very dark brown with a small tan head; flavor of smoke, light sweetness, and coffee. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Draft at BJ’s in Phoenix (Desert Ridge). Poured an opaque black color. The head was limp, light tan, and left no lace behind. Aroma was of dark chocolate with a hint of coffee. Sweet on the tongue with delicate, but strange acidity. I tasted chocolate and hints of molasses and coffee. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Dark, oily opaque body with a small mocha head. Aroma is very roasty and bitter. Flavor is dominated by bitter bakers chocolate and roasted coffee notes. There’s also a decent hoppiness as well. Finishes dry and tangy. Pretty good. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - FEB 28, 2008
Pretty decent beer on tap. Aroma offers some coffee notes and a bit of dark chocolate. Appearance was black, with a barely noticeable head that I couldn’t get to get thicker no matter how much I swirled the shaker. Mouthfeel was smooth. Flavor was pretty simple with dark chocolate and coffee. Got much better as it warmed up. BJ’s always serves up their beers too damned cold. Not too bad, but not as stout as I thought stout should have been. About all I can say is that it was quite creamy. Drinkable, but I am not a fan.
