travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 20, 2008
On tap at BJs in Lewisville. Replaced the Grand Cru which was a little better. Black in color with a decent head. Light coffee and oats in the aroma, could use some more. Taste again shows potential but comes but a little short

DarkMagus (560) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 19, 2008
On tap at BJ’s in Cupertino, CA. Poured (obviously) a dark blackish brown color, but with very little head. Aromas were lightly sweet and roasty, but not much of anything really. Flavors were unsurprisingly roasty/malty with a very slight hint of sweetness. Nothing to crazy to report. Medium-to-thin bodied, lightly carbonated... maybe this was not the ideal pour...

Name: Oatmeal Stout
Date: 07/22/2007
Mode: Draft
Source: Brewpub, Columbus

black, wispy beige head, roasted and dark chocolate aroma with hints os espresso, creamy oily body, lots of dry roasted and dark chocolate flavor, nice coffee bitterness, long bitter finish, the dark chocolate keeps the roasted and coffee characters in line and keeps them from being too overwhelming

6/28/2007: BJ’s Lasto’s Oatmeal Stout... Opaque, dark brown color. Light smoke and cinnamon in the aroma. Oats, caramel, and mild sweetness in flavor along with a whisp of smoke/char. Creamy texture. Pretty good. Has lots of potential...

Draught sample (OG , % ABV) at BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse in Columbus, Ohio. Rating # for this beer...

badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUN 24, 2007
On tap at BJs. Dark brown with creamy tan head. Good strong chocolate aroma and roastiness. Thick creamy palate. Sweet chocolate taste, roastiness, and a grainy taste to the finish.

Panzuriel (2429) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - JUN 10, 2007
Very deep brown. Thin head. Nose of sweet malt and hints of caramel. Coffee and oats on taste. mouthfeel was very full. Nice beer, lacking in some depth, I would say.

POD (198) - USA - JUN 9, 2007
On draft at brewhouse. Served ice cold with no head. Nice full aroma of oats. Flavor was biting bitter while the brew was cold. As it warmed the flavors mellowed out. Coffee, caramel and plenty of oats were the prominent flavors. Finish was bitter and more oats. Enjoyable. I’d drink it again.

trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 4, 2007
Tap, La Jolla. Pours dark brown with a short tan head that fades fast. Thick aroma of coffee, roasty malt, and oats. Nice smooth taste. Lots of coffee and bittersweet chocolate bite with a good malt back. Kind of dry finish. Good.

mjg74 (3199) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 23, 2007
Tap, La Mesa. Solid black stout. Served too cold. Quite flavorful. Thicker mouthfeel than I expected. Rich roasted coffee and chocolate flavors. Good stout.

Tmoney99 (15114) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 9, 2007
Draft sampler at the Columbus. Poured a dark brown color with a medium off-white frothy head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium smokey toasted malty aroma. Medium body. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable brew.
