On tap at BJ’s Columbus. Poured dark brown with short head that did not last long. Taste was chocolate and burnt coffee...A very drinkable stout, but not as sweet as I like mine. Barley’s has a much better Oatmeal Stout.

trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 4, 2007
Tap, La Jolla. Pours dark brown with a short tan head that fades fast. Thick aroma of coffee, roasty malt, and oats. Nice smooth taste. Lots of coffee and bittersweet chocolate bite with a good malt back. Kind of dry finish. Good.

6/28/2007: BJ’s Lasto’s Oatmeal Stout... Opaque, dark brown color. Light smoke and cinnamon in the aroma. Oats, caramel, and mild sweetness in flavor along with a whisp of smoke/char. Creamy texture. Pretty good. Has lots of potential...

Draught sample (OG , % ABV) at BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse in Columbus, Ohio. Rating # for this beer...

Pretty decent beer on tap. Aroma offers some coffee notes and a bit of dark chocolate. Appearance was black, with a barely noticeable head that I couldn’t get to get thicker no matter how much I swirled the shaker. Mouthfeel was smooth. Flavor was pretty simple with dark chocolate and coffee. Got much better as it warmed up. BJ’s always serves up their beers too damned cold.

5oz sample BJ’s Cupertino, CA - Bartender told me the tap is 60% CO2 and 40% NO2 - Not sure if it was the "Lastos" but was a special oatmeal stout. Aroma is mild roasted dark malts with some chocolate and coffee. Pours black with a small head and little lacing. Flavor is more pronounced than aroma. Roasted dark malts, oatmeal, creamy mocha and a touch of chocolate. Palate is sticky and creamy. Easy drinking and tasty enough to wash down some pizza.

Tap, La Mesa. Solid black stout. Served too cold. Quite flavorful. Thicker mouthfeel than I expected. Rich roasted coffee and chocolate flavors. Good stout.

On draft at brewhouse. Served ice cold with no head. Nice full aroma of oats. Flavor was biting bitter while the brew was cold. As it warmed the flavors mellowed out. Coffee, caramel and plenty of oats were the prominent flavors. Finish was bitter and more oats. Enjoyable. I’d drink it again.

Not too bad, but not as stout as I thought stout should have been. About all I can say is that it was quite creamy. Drinkable, but I am not a fan.

desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Dark, oily opaque body with a small mocha head. Aroma is very roasty and bitter. Flavor is dominated by bitter bakers chocolate and roasted coffee notes. There’s also a decent hoppiness as well. Finishes dry and tangy. Pretty good.

DoubleBubble (107) - Mescal Lakes (wherever that is), Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2008
Pours a deep brown with a fine tan head. Very little lacing. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, with roasted malts. Flavors of basically the same. A little bitter. A decent somewhat smooth beer, but not as smooth as most oatmeal stouts.
