Draught at 2006 Craft Lager Festival. Pours mahagony with a small frothy and fizzy tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, brown sugar (cookie, biscuit), nutty and yeast (dough). Medium sweetness, some light bitterness, buttery malt, brown sugar with a hint of plastic. Medium bodied and creamy palate. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 10, 2005
Deep amber-red with a thinnish head. Rich and chewy texture; moderate carbonation. Big sweetness, with notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, nuts, Boston baked beans and Sugar Babies. Had a little sourness (cherries) and some bitterness (flowers), too. Nice flavors but the aromas seemed a little obscured. Sweetness was a little heavy for my buds. Ok, but kinda hard to genuinely enjoy...bubble gummy with a grainy aftertaste. Ah well.
