COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish.

On Nitro. Deep brown color with reddish hues at the bottom of the glass. Foamy tan head. Toasted malt aroma but not much else- this beer was served too cold for my liking and in a frozen glass. Caramel and chocolate malt flavors along with some roasted malts. Pretty nice but I’m not crazy about it’s serving temp or the fact that they served it on nitro.

This is very similar to a Guinness, both in looks and flavor. Light body and mild chocolate. Clean finish.

Dark almost black color, thin tan lacing. Medium sweet and roast flavor. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Good flavor in the finish. Felt this was underrated.

Tap at BJ’s Austin. Dark brown color, good creamy brownish head. Light milky chocolaty aroma. Medium-bodied. Nitro mouthfeel. Coffeish, toasted malty. Guinness imitation but much better even not particular.

Draught at BJ’s Clearwater location, on January 30, 2017.
Dark brown to black color, dense lasting "Nitro" looking tan head. Malty, light roasted, mild coffee taste, to the sweet side. Mild roasted and coffee aftertaste. Smooth full mouthfel, medium low bitterness. Malty, sweet, mild roasted scent.

On tap in Orlando. A decent example of style, a touch too sweet to be amazing but still a very drinkable beer I’d be happy to drink again.

On draft at BJ’s in West Covina. The pour is a medium black with a thick light khaki head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty bland. There is a light roast and a hint of chocolate, but that’s is. No sweetness, no depth. The flavor is thin and light with more of a metallic malt dominating. There isn’t much happening. Light malts, a hint of chocolate, and a heap of metallic grain thing happening that doesn’t do anyone any favors. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a light carbonation and a real lack of flavors on the back end. The aftertaste is metallic and forced chocolate malts. Interesting, but not a full time beer
