Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is murky dark amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread/grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of ginger, currant, and lemon zest.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation.
Very cool aroma, the ginger doesn’t overpower and there’s other stuff to enjoy. Good balance as well. Enjoyed this one. luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 25, 2006
Hand-drawn cask draught at the brewery in Boulder, Co. Beer pours a hazy, medium yellow-amber color without any head. Ah...an ode to ginger. The aroma is lightly malty with light notes of toasted bread; lightly hoppy with a note of lemon; miscellaneous aromas of heavy, fresh ginger, a moderate note of black tea and traces of pineapple and honey. Delicate and nice. The flavor was moderately acidic, moderately sweet and trace-bitter with an extra-short, lightly acidic finish with comforting fresh-bread retros. Highly drinkable. The body was light-to-medium, the texture was watery-to-velvety and the carbonation was soft. A pretty fetching and drinkable offering.
