hazy amber, scant head, light sweet fruity aroma, sweet fruity flavor with essence of peaches and apricots, light bitter finish,

Draught. Dark mahogany-copper body with a small white head. The aroma is doughy, fruity (raspberry), and kind of buttery actually. Tastes really thick and fruity, not really much to it. It’s all over the place and as such quite difficult to drink.

Sampled at the Pizza Port 12 Hour Belgian Beer Party on March 24, 2007.
On tap at the PP 12 hour fest: Deep brown hue with a minimal head and some oily coating. The aroma has notes of varnish and cleaning supplies but a nice Special B sweetness does help. Pear and starfruit esters as well. The taste has sweet caramelized malt overtones but is mostly one-dimensional. Note of pepper and salt with a woody aftertaste. The mouth feel is oily and smooth. Okay but a touch too much malt and the nose needs help too. fordest (2469) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - MAR 27, 2007
Draft at PP Belgian Beer Fest. Dark pour with almost no head. Lots of dark fruit and very malty aromas. Flavor was very malty too. Almost all malt. This was very barleywineish. Very yummy. LilKem (1213) - Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 20, 2007
surprised there aren’t more ratings of this, since it was at the SD Strong ale fest 06. i’m just now getting around to entering it. anyway, i had some very basic belgian flavors and aromas. some dried light fruit, lemon and apricot, with some apple and bready yeasty characteristics with a hint of pecan. flavor much the same. lots of carbonation, more than i prefer in my belgians.
