Combined with its full-bodied richness, this symphony of flavors is what makes Imperial Stout the ultimate sipping beer. BJ’s brewers don’t hold back in their interpretation of this classic style.

radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - JAN 11, 2014
Draft at BJ’s in Frederick, MD; served in a tulip glass. Very dark brown color with dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste adds notes of light coffee, sugar, caramel and some fruity esters. Medium-heavy body, low carbonation, dry, semi-creamy with slight bitter roast finish. For a RIS somewhat thin and sweet, overall decent dessert beer that night.

Rich and creamy, deep brown pour with an excellent beige lace. Milk chocolate nose. Sweet and chocolaty flavor. An ample dose of hops lend a bitter but mildly unfolding finish. Lingering roasty bitterness. Quite good.

On tap BJ’s, JAX. Chalky vanilla roast barley aroma with a little dark chocolate. Opaque black with hazy garnet highlights under a lasting, ruddy beige nitro head. Sweet vanilla flavour with faint red fruit accents and a dark chocolate finish. Overly sweet and with barely any bitterness to balance. Medium light body, smooth, low carbonation.
