Aggiebob (1132) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Draft at BJ’s in Huntsville. It poured a dark brown with a nice tan head that disipated into a lace ring. Nice roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and oak flavoring from the bourbon barrels. The alcohol becomes more pronounced as the beer mellows. Very tasty.

On tap. At the restaurant of course. Very dark with a small tan head. Solid bourbon barrel character, it’s just a little lacking elsewhere. Medium bodied and smooth.

On tap in Huntsville resteraunt. This must have been a better batch. Than other ratings. Thin head. I don't know what I am missing here. Vanilla oak. Toasted oak. Not a building bitterness. Sweet oak vanilla. Only a bit thinner than I'd want a bit more body but a small complaint. Smells like a nice barrel aged beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very nice bourbons n beer but it is very simplified, but, this honestly is a terrible looking beer. Looks like crappy root beer.. . Mild to medium bourbon, burnt brick, wooden teeth, and sweet tar .. It’s a nice beer, won’t win awards or stop me from punching children but it’s nice

phaleslu (10267) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2016
Draft in a flight at BJ’s-Florence. Pours a deep brown color with a small khaki head. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, oak, dark dried fruits, ash, earth, roasted malts - whiskey throughout. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sticky, boozy, roasty mouthfeel. Not the most elegant barrel treatment, but given how weak the base beer is, it’s not bad.

Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and some oak. Flavor is the same with more oak than I was anticipating, but still very good. Had a hint of warming on the finish.

Rich, dark with a distinct whiskey flavor. Rather sweet though well balanced overall. You can't taste the alcohol despite the fairly high ABV. Served in a 12oz glass (so rich, one's enough!). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
