Draft to taster at the brewpub. Looks good; a translucent cola with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and a bit of roast. Tastes like it smells, but roastier. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and fairly bitter from the roast. Pretty good.

Opaque brown-black, long lasting head, bands of lace. Taste is clean roasted malt with a hint of coffee/chocolate. Bittering shows early in the palate, which distracts from the normal porter expectation. Drinkable, but not equal to many porters already more familiar to regular drinkers.

Taster on tap at the brewpub. Labeled 6.2%. Dark brown reddish color. Near black. Good toasty malt, some dark chocolate, good coffee aroma. Bigger bitter taste. Some light dark fruit. Hint of licorice. Little off-white, sort of tan head. Nice thicker ropes and splotches of lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky in the finish. Very solid robust porter.

tap at the brewpub last fall - Pours near black with a tan head. It has a pleasant roast malt and chocolate aroma. The flavor is of sweet chocolate and dark roast malt. It’s medium bodied and the chocolate character comes through quite well. Good!

Draft sample. Poured a black color with an average fizzy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft complex brew.
