4oz on tap at the brewpub. Dark brown color. Thin ring of khaki head, leaving decent splotches of lace. Get some clove up front, cinnamon for sure. Not too spicy. Chocolate, touch of dark fruit. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Easy to sip, especially for the 7.2% ABV. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet, mild spiciness, not too spicy. Tasty, well-done xmas porter. Patrickctenchi (6630) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JAN 19, 2014
Pours black with a small tan head.
Aroma of strong nutmeg and ginger.
Caramel, spice, coffee flavor...
The spicing is unbalanced against the porter-ness....like it was spiced afterward....
A little too tricked up. jsquire (4525) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Dark beer with a thin tan head. Light sweet spicy nose. This is a sweet porter with lots of light brown sugar and white sugar flavor. Nice spice taste with gingerbread, cinnamon toast and molasses. There is some roasted grain flavor but it is quickly subdued by the sweet and the spice. Buttered toast finish. This is what I think of when I think of a Christmas beer.
