Aroma is dark malts and butterscotch/toffee. The flavor is malts butterscotch/toffee (bordering on cloyingly sweet) and a mildly acidic/tart finish. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 2, 2013
bottle, darker cola looking pour, medium body, lighter than expected @ 9.4%. Some roastiness, light raisins, not too boozy despite high ABV. decent OKplus (787) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 28, 2013
A - Pours a dark brown color with nice ruby highlights when held to the light. 2 fingers of foamy tan head that retains very well forming a dense cap of micro-bubbles. A descent amount of lacing left behind.
S - Earthy cocoa, overly roasted coffee beans, peat, alcohol, pecans,
T - Roasted malts, old coffee, tangy acidic berry and dark fruitiness, scorched caramel, thin molasses, prunes, soft vanilla, smoked peat. Smokey and on the finish.
M - Light side of medium body, medium carbonation, tangy and slightly acidic.
True to the style of sour, tangy, and smokey. It’s a little rough around the edges but aren’t all Baltic Porter’s? Lighter body than I expected.

500ml bottle from Downer Wine & Spirits. Pours a reddish brown with a spongy off white head. Aroma has molasses, grapes, licorice, chocolate, faint coffee. Taste is of grapey chocolate,(raisins?) licorice a bit earthy . Mostly sweet and somewhat watery. Not very "baltic"y. Panzuriel (2306) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Black boss porter pours a rich mahogany brown with a nice thick head of tan bubbles. Nose is sweet alcohol with hints of yeast, grass and hay. taste is rather one note sweet on the foretaste. on the finish it is caramel corn, nuts and wheat toast. Body is just a touch lively. Alcohol is pretty obvious, but the finish is really intriguing.

Aroma of sweeet malts, vanilla, carmal with hints bread/grain. Pours a dark translucent brown with mostly diminishing khaki head and no lacing. The taste is medium sweet. Strong molasses taste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while I liked it, I wouldn’t want to drink more than one at a time. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 21, 2013
Black pour with a khaki head. Smells like burnt grains and popcorn. Acidic coffee, chocolate, and burnt sugar. Maybe a bit of bile. Bread and tons of overly roasted malt. The flavor is bitter, burnt, and grainy. Burnt popcorn, licorice, chocolate, and acidic coffee. DocLock (10731) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle from Smith’s, taking me back to 6,666 and the service of Satan after I got an e-mail saying Woodchuck Pink was removed. What does Joel have against tits? At any rate, enough controversy and on to the review, which I know you are all waiting for with bated breath. The pour is dark brown through indirect light, and a lovely shade of deep ruby/burgundy through direct light, with a finger of tan head. Nose is roasty choc and black patent malt, cacao, walnut. The nose really pops. Tastes smooth, a bit sweet, with amazingly well hidden alcohol. The flavor is roasty choc malt, blackberry, molasses, backup hops, and some walnut, molasses, and finishing charred notes. Lamacah (6) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 14, 2013 does not count
