Pours a very dark reddish hue. Almost black. Hints of black cherry and licorice. Quite a potent porter, but not overpowering. Surprisingly sweet. A somewhat burnt aftertaste ruins the moment, but overall, this is a delicious beer.

pours blacker than black with no head from the bottle. Malt coffee alchohol aroma. Thick and smooth to the palate. the flavor starts out a mix of malt & alchohol, has a sweet middle and a smoky finish. A nice porter but the alcohol flavor could be better hidden.

Bottle. Pours a deep black/brown; can barely see through it against the light. A 15 second head. Has a dense, sweet aroma of caramel, roasted malts, and carob (? of all smells) came through pretty strong. Immediatly noticed black licorice in the flavor, toffee, raisins, and Nyquil cheery flavor. Weird, but that’s what it reminds me of somewhat. Although the alchohol is well hidden, it still finishes with a nice warm zing. Mouthfeel is syrupy and leaves a sweet coating. Not too satisfied with this (being my first baltic porter). I hope to find better in the future.

Bottle. Poured with a very light head, overall carbonation is very weak. Body is a very dark brown. Taste is very heavy malt, and I doubt any hops were used to make this. Much too sweet for the style, finishes exceptionally smooth. Does have a notable fruity aftertaste, which may be due to the type of yeast used.

Pours a dark black sludge. Aroma of molasses and alcohol. Heavy roasted malts of chocolate, coffee, bourbon, oak with slightly over the top sweetness.

Excellent! Very malty. Dark. Great after taste. Caramelly hints with coffee. Terrific after taste.

Snifter from bottle. A: weak nose cold, more prominent when warmer, slight malty sweetness, a little brown sugar, carmel, toffee App: incredibly dark with a brown shadow and a very dark amber core. One finger, frothy, tan head, slowly dispersing. T: sent from heaven to Browar to my glass. Excellent malt back of brown sugar, and dark fruit. P: sharp, fine bubbles, and goes down so smooth. The alcohol is completely hidden! One of, if not, the best of Baltic Porters!

This has a very distinct smell, like licorice or something else I can’t quite name. The taste is interesting, I get the malt flavor as well as a sour note like black licorice, as well as other flavors I can’t quite pinpoint. It does seem a bit thick on the palate, but enjoyable when sipped.
