BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAY 29, 2005
Bottle provided by and shared with clarkvv 4/30/2005: Dark brown body with a small beige head that quickly recedes to a tiny ring around the outside of the glass. Aroma: mostly dominated by dark molasses, brown sugar, maple syrup, acidic toffee. Taste: sweet, syrupy malt up front, followed by brown sugar, molasses, toffee, chalky caramel. Finish shows a bit of coffee and continues to be sweet. Medium forced carbonation, creamy mouth feel. Completely hides any trace of alcohol, which is impressive. This one does seem quite sweet, possibly under-attenuated, so I’m wondering what yeast, or method they used to get this particular sweetness.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JAN 6, 2006
(Bottle) Pours a deep mahogany body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of raisins, dustiness, and alcohol. Flavor of malt and dark fruits. A bit thin of a body for a baltic porter.

dwedin (249) - Happy Valley, Oregon, USA - MAR 2, 2006
Mild aroma, no alcohol smell. Mildly bitter taste with maybe a hint of dark chocolate. Didn’t detect as much flavor as some of the other reviewers maybe because it was chilled a little low. Okay porter.

blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 2, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of Thaichile. Pours a clear dark ruby-brown with a large diminishing light-brown head. Aroma mostly of sweet malt with some nuts, dark fruit and cola. Sweet malty flavour, somewhat sugary with some roastiness and a burnt aftertaste. Body’s a little thin. Not bad but it didn’t do much for me.

thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 5, 2007
Bottle. Dark brown with a light brown, creamy head that reduced to a minimum. Sweet, port-like aroma. Roasted flavours, but sweet molasses very much in the lead. One-dimensionally sweet, unfortunately.

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 7, 2007
Bottle that’s been sitting in my cellar for about 3 years. Pours dark brown with a faint light brown head that doesn’t last. Smells of molasses, licorice, sweet chocolate, earthy. Tastes earthy and boozy with some caramel and syrup qualities. Some dates peak through eventually but not as exciting as some of the others tried alongside this.

chokmah33 (118) - San Luis Obispo, California, USA - APR 6, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2008 Aromas of banana, yeasty bread, and definite alcohol. Taste is nutty like a brown. A sweet prune flavor and a mealy malt finish. Definitely dosn’t taste like it has 9.4%
