On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts the aroma is cocoa, licorice, raisin. Medium body, light roast, cream, nice sweetness, very good. brokensail (16660) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 27, 2015
On tap @ Black Bottle. Dark brown in color with off-white foam. Bready malts and a lot of grassy hops. Sort of acidic, unfortunately. A little thin, too. Really herbal hop profile that I don’t particularly care for either. The flavor is just kind of thin and tangy and a bit on the abrasive side. Not a big fan. This is garnet brown in color w/ a foamy head. Its nose is mildly hoppy with a bit of toasty malt. It’s medium bodied w/ a nice woody pine hop character and some earthy bitterness in the finish. This is a medium bodied brew w/ mild carb and comes off a bit sweet and fruity in the end. This is a bit strong for a brown ale but still comes off pretty down-the-middle for the style. Tap. Kind of light fruity and boozy. Hmmm... That sounds longer the wrong up to an inappropriate comment. Not my fave, but not bad. HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 6, 2014
Growler from Black Bottle thanks to Chase. Appearance: light brown to khaki three fingers of head, deep brown color, clear. Aroma: light floral, very faint raisin or fruitiness, roast, light chocolate. Palate: soft carbonation, dry finish, medium full body. Taste: Sweet all the way through, but not cloying. Overall, great beer to drink a few in one sitting, but nothing to rave about. Ratman197 (15444) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 8, 2014
On tap at Colorado Plus poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of coffee, toasted malt and cocoa. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, cocoa and light earthiness with a smooth lingering cocoa finish. ajnepple (7172) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 8, 2013

Tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Bland, a bit grainy, caramel, lightly fruity aroma. Kind of sweet, lightly nutty, mild vanilla flavor with some fruity notes. Uninteresting, thin, a bit tangy, and bland to boot. I’m going to peg this legendary beer @ 4.5/1.399. Simply delightful.
