On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow gold with medium frothy white head. The aroma is grass and spruce. Thin body, grass, citrus, crisp, good.

Meh. Typical gold, pale and noting kolsch. Corn, grain, lightly sweet. I’ll pass.

On tap at Colorado Plus poured a clear pale yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of bread and yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread and light yeast with a crisp dry finish.

brokensail (16648) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 27, 2015
On tap @ Black Bottle. Clear golden pour with white foam. Apple juice, creamed corn, and grape drink. Yum. Kind of just an overall cloying qualities. Grassy hop profile provides just a bit of bitterness and some break to the sweetness. Not at all the kind of profile I look for in a Kolsch.

2.4

This is not a shining example of the style. It’s bright blond w/ spots of lace. It has a bit of cooked corn to it and overall just an odd earthy vegetable taste. There are some nice noble hops floating around in there too which is kind of a waste given the off notes this has. Oh well.

onceblind (10607) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 1, 2015
Clear light golden under a thin foamy white bubbly head. Noble grassy aroma with a crisp Belgian toast and lagerish malt. Thick toast and chewy body with a certain funky lager biscuit background with a stern grassy hop body, earthy grassy bitterness. A bit strong and earthy and biscuity.

arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of cracker, pils malt, nice hints of spice, grain, slight vanilla, touch of honey, actually pretty decent smelling. Taste is a mix of grass, grain, slight spice, biscuit, and cracker notes, finishing fairly dry, clean.

On tap at black bottle. Pretty boring, although its pretty hot outside so not bad. Tastes like straw

A few steps above Old Style, but I think dad needs a new beer. Pours clear and thin. Grainy aroma, maybe processed corn. The hops are not enough to balance the malts so it comes off as too sweet. I really can’t find a good application for this beer beyond sampling it.

2.7
ajnepple (7093) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 28, 2013
On tap at BBB. Pale, gold/yellow and clear with a bright white head. Mild aroma of toasted grains, hay, light sweet malts and bitter hops. Similar flavor with a light floral/herbal character and citrus fruits. Light body with a clean, crisp feel and a dry, light bitter finish. Pretty thin and soft on the palate. Smooth and pretty refreshing overall, a bit tangy.
