Light grain aroma. Pours a reddish-amber, with a thin white head. A bit more bitterness then I usually expect in a Kolsch, without the usual crispness. This comes across more of an amber ale. A drinkable beer, nothing out of the ordinary.
Poured an orange color with a white head. Aroma of caramel and butter. Flavor similar, hardly any hop character. Not good. alexsdad06 (11223) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 7, 2015
12 oz. bottle from a Kroger in Columbus. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bready malts, light grassy and leafy hops, mild caramel, pretty boring and not something to repeat. DialSquare (5187) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 27, 2015
12oz bottle from Kroger in Grandview. Amber pour, thin white head. Aroma of sweet bread and toffee. Tastes are sweet malt grains, nutty, earthy. Straightforward, but good balance. Finishes light herbal bitter. semiotic (14) - Walton Hills, Ohio, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Unassuming 4.5% beer with excellent flavor and superior overall aesthetics. I am not one to wax poetic about the smell of freshly mown grass or whatever. If you appreciate flavor with relatively low ABV, this one rules. Dogbrick (14316) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 1, 2013
Sample at Smiling Skull as part of Ohio Brew Week. Pours a clear copper-amber color with a medium thick foamy white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, caramel and slight hops. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty average. About what you would expect for a gimmicky beer like this.

Draft. Poureed clear dark amber color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Flavor was moderate bittersweet flavor with an average bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew. steelhead3686 (269) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Tasted this at the 2012 Brew Week in Athens, Ohio. Pours a clear copper with a small white head. Hops aroma with a hint of hay or wheat. Medium bitter with a hint of sweet. Light body with a nice clean but slightly bitter finish. Tasty for an amber ale but nothing special. weihenweizen (4208) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours dark amber with small off-white head. Medium body medium carbonation, and slightly slick texture. Taste is slightly toasted caramel malt and finishes slightly minty hops. shigadeyo (3819) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 11, 2009
July 17-19, 2008: Plumber’s Crack has an earthy, biscuit-like aroma with green, leafy hops, and a toasted toffee maltiness in the flavor. It is also slightly nutty (pecan maybe). This medium-bodied beer is smooth, copper-colored, clear, and has a creamy off-white head. Not bad...
Draught sample at Skipper’s Bar & Grille in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2008. Rating #2 for this beer.
