Number 3 of the Historic Beers four pack from the LCBO. Pours a slightly opaque dark brown, with no initial head, but you do end up with a spotty sheet. Fairly active carbonation though, huh. Nose is roasted malt, slight chocolate, and... almost a berry, but a sour berry. The taste is full of malts, but that berryish nose is really much more of an astringent burn rye, berry flavour. It goes hand in hand with the tasted malts. A little burn bitterness in the aftertaste. I don’t know what that flavour is, it’s a new one for me, and I don’t really like it. Be interesting to see what you other RB guys said about this one. mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 12, 2014
[5560-20130630] 500mL bottle. Toasted multigrain malt aroma. Clear, port red body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted boozy straw grains flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6-/3/13) 3.1 DuffMan (10610) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 16, 2014
Bottle, purchased from the brewery as part of a 4-pack of historic Canadian beers. Nut brown body, beige head. Quite a roasty profile for a brown ale, earthy and tannic, but noticeably thin and watery. Not bad, but not one I’d return to (this seems to be a recurring theme with this brewery). rederic (3341) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 7, 2013

2013-06-30. Dark brown body, small tan head fades. 3+ Flavour has a fair bit of coffee like roast, sweet dark malt middle. Aroma has a dilute coffee like character, dry roast malt over sweeter malt base, dusty malt accents. Smooth avetage plus to medium bodied palate has low carbonation. Okay, fairly simple. Bottle from the LCBO

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 I found this beer enjoyable as I usually do with beers from Black Creek Brewery. Not that extra strong punch of taste that some people might be looking for but it is enjoyable enough. Good session beer to. ads135 (4933) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 2, 2013
A very mild beer. Sessionable. Brown appearance, sweet and a bit of a watery mouthfeel. DeanF (2514) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 5, 2013
Found in Ottawa. Somewhere. Pours with a pitch-brown body and a modest head on top, foggy, little visible carbonation. Aroma is wet barley and mash, like a maltina non-alc, certainly not encouraging. Flavour is a spicy barley mix, no complexity, simple barley water with a hint of pizzazz on the back end. Sadly there’s no complexity to this, just a watery pile of barley, but nonetheless still drinkable. Boutip (6486) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 17, 2013
Bottle: Poured a clear medium brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of dry caramel malt with light grainy notes. Taste is also dominated by some dry caramel malt with some notes of grainy cereal. Body is about average with good carbonation. Run of the mill brown ale with dry cereal notes.
