1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Canada: Pours a plenty nice dark brown with a whie head. Aroma is of something akin to sour milk and smoke. Taste is also similar to in most regards. Thin and unappetizing. I don’t think that this is skunked, I just think that it is bad. I don’t like to say this, but I think I would rather drink Coors.
Mild ashy aroma, maybe a hint of chocolate. Pours black with a short lived tan head. Medium bodied, dark malt flavours with slight bitterness on the end, short finish. Simple and fairly light stout. sic1314 (4773) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2014
Poured dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of rich roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium body, flavour as the aroma, a bit weak. mabel (10003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 31, 2013
[5182-20130401] 500mL bottle. Dog poop wooden mushy peas aroma. Dark brown body with a quick foamy light tan head. Light bitter coffee grinds and roasted wood notes in the flavour. Full body. A little on the burnt side for me. (6/3/7/3/13) 3.2 jercraigs (11095) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
2013-04-01. Very dark brown black body with a nice tan head. 3++ Dry roasty aroma, light vegetal undertones. 6+ Flavour is similarly quite dry, odd roasty character up front finishes pleasantly roasty. 6++ Average palate is decent but a touch light for the beer. Decent but not really to my own tastes. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto punkska101 (2194) - Chambly, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2013

Pours a dark brown colour with little ruby highlights. The head is light beige coloured, frothy, creamy, has good retention and thick foamy lacing. Aromas of coffee and dark fruits (raisins, plums) at first. Medium-light bodied with a slight creamy feel. Taste of roasted malt with notes of coffee, smoke, and some light infection with a sourness that should not be there. Other than that, a nice smooth stout with good drinkability (for those who do not like theirs too heavy). asheft (3125) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 29, 2013
Smokey chocolate and lagery sulfur aroma with some red fruit notes and a good helping of roasted barley. Almost clear red highlights around a black beer with a thin, off-white, bubbly head. Very roasty flavour with vanilla and dry nuts developing into a light bitterness. Delicate and nicely balanced. Light body, medium carbonation, clean finish. Bouteille 500ml. Canmoore (503) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle from LCBO. This stout pours jet black with no head at all, even with an aggressive pour. The aroma is of black liquorish, coffee, and roasted malts. The initial taste is sour, than transitions to deep malt chocolates, and some coffee and slight bitterness. However the finish is extremely weak, almost like thinly flavored water. Perhaps the weak body is homage to the traditional style of stouts, but whatever the case the palate is not very deep at all. An ok stout, that has potential. A clear dark brown stout with a super thick big bubbled frothy brown head. Noted a floating film on air/liquid interface before opening bottle. In aroma, strange briney and grassy chocolate with wild yeasts, sign of infection, medicinal. In mouth, a sourish mix of coffee grinds and olive brine, a tad unpleasant, infected.
