Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Dark brown-red pour with a tan head. The aroma and flavor are both very complex and show a lot of barrel-aged notes. Aroma is maple, cherries, toffee and bourbon. Flavor is maple, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, oak and caramel. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. doublebock (558) - California, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Cloudy auburn brown color with white head.. Nutty caramel malty aroma with hints of bourbon. Complex palate. We’ve got a dark fruit presence along with a please sour note and a candy like maltiness. Smooth bourbon and vanilla finish. rayOfBeer (674) - El Cerrito, California, USA - APR 25, 2013
Tap: dark reddish-brown pour with large creamy, light tan head. Aroma is dusty with woody oak, chocolate, cola, cherry, and vanilla. Flavor is cherry cola, vanilla, a light oaky bourbon and a very slight yeasty funk. Palate is mostly sweet and creamy thick. Overall an interesting beer but the flavors never seem to settle, probably could use some age to gel the flavor. arone12 (929) - Maryland, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Bourbony! Brown in color. Some oak and vanilla! And some wood! Some malts. Good stuff drpimento (3639) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Hm, somewhat different than I was expecting. Poured at a good temperature with an average size light tan, slightly fizzy, foamy head that eventually settked and some lace. Color is a clear orange mahoganey with lots of rapidly rising bubble trails. Aroma is at first dark ripe fruit, yeast, malt, and later vanilla. Flavor’s like nose but much more intense. Has nice interplay between bitter - sweet- and carbonic tang (although tang starts to get in the way after a period). Flavor reminds me of some sort of candy I’ve never tried before and while I kind of like it, I wasn’t all in. Body is decent but carbonation is a little too aggresive. Finish is like flavor, alcohol comes out strong, and length is long. Not a bad brew, but not a fav.

bottled, thanks to bu11zeye, dark amber pour with dense white foam, aroma of buttery chocolate, flavor of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, malty, creamy finish thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2013
(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy deep brown, thick offwhite head. Nose of bourbon barrels, light herbal flavors, vanilla, complex, smells awesome. Taste of graham cracker, alcohol, vanilla, light alcohol, cream, quite unique and very good. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Thanks to Kevin for the chance to try this one -- really interesting brew. The fruitiness of those currants and figs really comes through, and the vanilla is also readily apparent -- none of those flavors slips to the background. Some of the caramelly oak from the bourbon is definitely there, along with the traditional booze dilution, and while I think it could use a bit of refinement, the flavors play together well and make for a far more interesting brew than I anticipated. oRos (1675) - sacramento, California, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Bottle from capitol beer. Aroma is wood , grape, . Has some slight sour taste. Has a bourbon aftertaste. Hanuta06 (469) - Washington, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Serving: from tap at Beer Junction.
Aroma: lightly fruity with cask wood scent.
Appearance: average-sized, fizzy, off-white, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Black body.
Taste: heavily sweet initial flavor and overwhelmingly sweet, caramel finish with hints of cask wood and bourbon. Average duration.
Palate: light body, dry texture and fizzy carbonation.
Overall: a complex beer. I liked the caramel finish, but it soon became overwhelmingly sweet.
