Enjoyed as ratebeer rating #7000!
Enjoyed as barleywine rating #528!
It pours with a nearly opaque copper body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up sweet malts and molasses as well as sweet plum notes and only mild booziness and even more molasses into the end of the draw. The taste is smooth and luscious with molasses and smooth malts flowing into some caramel and more malts and molasses mixed together to midway. Into the finish there is a bit of boozy heat that breaks up the slick sweet carpet ride that is this beer but not before some sweet prunes and more molasses and malt sweetness keep this a smooth sweet sipper. Wow! Love this stuff.
Figs, raisins. Aroma of booze and dried fruit. Hint of hops. Coating mouthfeel. Boozy finish. Ratman197 (14838) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2012
On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of rye, oak, bourbon, carmel, fruittiness and light spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, oak, vanilla, toffee, light earthiness and light bourbon with a crisp dry lingering oak finish.

Pours a reddish brown color. Bit like wood with some grapes? Interesting. Some hops and raisins. scottw86 (1177) - Maryland, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Red brown color thin offwhite head. Fruity grapes with sugar aroma. Quiye hoppy, vety sweet with fruit. Mayne a little too much like fruit juice. Good smoothness. killjoy966 (677) - Washington, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Half-pint @ Chuck’s. Decent enough barley wine that didn’t overpower in any of the traditional barley wine categories. Not too sweet but not too complex either. Not sure where Chuck got this (perhaps leftover from Hard Liver?) mcberko (17837) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2012
On tap for Hard Liver ’12, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small tan head. Aroma of dried fruits (apricots), hay and apple juice. Flavour is dry, with apple juice, wheat, bread, dried fruits and a slight sourness. Dry but sort of stale - not impressed.
