Our take on a "west coast style" IPA, Jagged Edge is big and hoppy, yet its also extremely well balanced, and surprisingly easy to reach for another. We "first wort hop" with Columbus, and use Simcoe for flavor additions. The finishing hop additions include Columbus, Centennial, and Simcoe. Columbus is pungent with sweet orange aromas and flavor. Centennial adds floral notes along with additional citrus. Simcoe add a nice pine like flavor and aroma. These hops were chosen for their flavors and their moderate cohumulone content, which means they are bitter but not overwhelmingly bitter in large quantities. Pale malts are complemented by caramalt and light munich malts, which both enhance the malty sweetness and color and work to balance the substantial hop bill.

Bottle. Pure amber pour with but a thin head. It transmits a downright seductive aroma of a wet, piney forest. It drinks with a big mushy, mashy character ... Spruce, blood orange, bark. (#4917, 1/16/2013)

Piney hop with hints of citrus on the nose gives way to a stalwart malt profile to balance the big hops. Great for skiing where you want hops and a little extra malt for good measure.

The aroma is malty and yeasty with caramel and a huge floral citrus hop. The appearance is copper gold with a big foamy head. The taste is like the aroma with a bitter bread finish. The palate is average. Overall pretty good.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours amber with a fluffy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops plus a little caramel and pale malts. Flavor the same, with nothing really to balance out the hops. Average texture. An average IPA.

Pours a cloudy straw color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, light alcohol, and citrus hops. Flavor of citrus, caramel malt, light toast. A good amount of bitterness at the finish.

Bottle. Cloudy golden with decent foamy head. Lots of bitterness but the malt is powerful. Not my favorite but a good ipa which is a little different.

A new arrival to NH, the notches on the side indicate July 2012, is that a bottled on or exp date? Pours a crystal clear deep golden color with a huge white head that shows great retention and moderate lacing. The aroma is mostly garlic and green onions. Maybe theres a hint of bready malt, but its really hard to find. The flavor follows the aroma really well. I get lots of vegetative onion and garlic hop flavor with just a hint of sweet bready malt that is struggling to find a voice. The finish holds a bit of licorice and more of the garlic long after every sip. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a light syrup resinous mouthfeel. Intense vegetative hop aroma and flavor, but this seems to lack any complexity. I could drink this, but wouldnt seek it out.
