COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When we first got our noses in and hands on the experimental hop, then known only as HBC 369 CV, we knew it was something special. We wanted to make a lower alcohol IPA that didnt drink like many others we tried. There was good hoppiness to most of them, but the body seemed lacking. We went to work on solving this, and it took a bit of time. When we were finally convinced our session IPA was ready for prime time, HBC 369 had been named: Mosaic.

We employ this chameleon cone -with its exceptional palette of flavors- at each stage in the hopping process. Paul has actually created a lower alcohol session ale with the flavor and body of an American IPA. This beer has developed a following in the active lifestyle crowd, especially with cyclists, but its also a great beer when you just want a little more hang-time with your IPA. Dedicated to our hop-loving friend, David Moes, we brew this beer for true hop heads.

35,5cl gekregen als staal van Alpha Sales. U: Helder oranje met dunne gebroken witte schuimkraag. G: Citrus, karamel, pruimen en licht floraal. S: Tropisch fruitig in de aanzet, karamel en pruimen. Licht citrusbittere afdronk. De pruimen vloeken wat met de rest van het bier, maar al bij al drinkbaar. M: Doordrinker met medium carbonatie.

On tap @ Zeitgeist. Pours clear dark amber with thin white head. Aroma is lightly toasty caramel malt, herbal and slightly earthy hops. Taste is light, sweet caramel malt; dry and faintly floral hops. Richer than a typical session IPA, but not much worthwhile flavor happening here.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a thin white head on top. Aroma is light on the hoppy side, some light citrus, hints of cardboard and hints of caramel malts. Also hints of toffee in there as well. Flavor is very mildy bitter, light hoppy, hint of grapefruit in the backend. Very soft, easy drinkable, one-dimensional and rather boring brew, could be a tad old, but still nothing new under the sun here. Just a low abv, mediocre session IPA.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, hops and citrus.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque orange/dark orange beer with a slight/medium off-white/beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Smells and looks great. The flavour starts great, but ends rather flat and watery. Did not have the pleasure to drink it fresh however, so that might explain it. Great and refreshing nonetheless.

Best by December, had it in on August 11th. Clear amber color, beige head. Aroma had some old hop notes at first but after it sat a few minutes in the glass, it opened up to nice a white grapes bouquet and some fresh cut grass. Taste starts with grassy hops, white grapes, almonds, guava and finishes with medium hop bitterness with a somehow tea-like/medicinal flavor but not necessarily in a bad way. Light to medium body with medium carbonation. Its a bit weird. It has some old hop notes but also fresh flavors. Not bad, but not great either.

Grasig hopfiger Antrunk, frisch, deutlich bitter. Der Hopfen steigt an, trocken, moderate Herbe. Wenig wrzig, die Hopfigkeit bleibt angenehm. Gut. 11/10/10/11/9/11
