Opaque black. Bourbon and mocha nose. Full bodied and thick on the palate with a rich dose of dark chocolate. Good carbonation keeps this in balance. Creamy texture. oRos (1675) - sacramento, California, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle from beerboxer. Has a nice sweet malty taste. Dark chocolate flavor. Would of thought it was a stout. topher_78 (28) - California, USA - MAY 18, 2012
The beer poured black as night, with 1/2 a fingers worth of a mocha head that left little to no lacing. The aroma is of sweet vanilla, chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is of heavy vanilla, bitter-sweet chocolate, toasted malt and espresso. The mouth feel has very little in the way of carbonation, so it’s heavy and coats your tongue as it runs over your palate, leaving a slight alcohol warming sensation in the back of your throat.

22. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head and decent drippy lace. Not a total show pony, but looks good. Big bourbony nose, lots of chocolate and vanilla. Thick creamy body. Mid palate heaps with chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Nice sweet stuff. We’ve been here before more than once, but it’s always a nice place to come back and visit. A little too sweet and goopy to be truly amazing, but definitely a bottle to savor with your feet up. Petronius (55) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 19, 2012
I smell vanilla and roast; tastes semi-sweet chocolate and raisins. Kinda thin, but good.

Nose of vanilla cocoa. Roast and earth.a little nutty. Very sweet aroma. Pours brown with a thin tan head. Flavora are sweet throighout with vanilla andI earthy cocoa notes. Mild bitterness roast and more vsnilla. Light body medium carb. The beer needs more asseetiveness as it seems like a boring brown ale treatment. Not horrible by any means. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Bomber. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger fizzy beige head that faded to a wispy partial covering. The nose is quite rich and intense, lots of milk chocolate, some vanilla bean, light roast, and some light caramel. The flavoring is a little over the top though, almost extending into the Southern Tier realm. Heavily laced with vanilla, the cocoa comes in a close second, which doesn’t leave too much room for the actual beer to express itself. All bells and whistles and no substance. Very sweet and a little tiring on the palate after less than half a bottle. Rather thick and chewy in texture with soft carbonation. Not terrible, but not something I’d try again or recommend seeking out. LilBeerDoctor (3930) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2012
Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla. Flavor of charred/roasted malt up front with burnt caramel and vanilla in the finish. Smooth and roasty/charred palate. Nice beer, would have liked a stronger chocolate presence, given the description. Overall it’s pretty good.

Pretty good beer but I am not a fan of how the vanilla plays out in this beer. eastbayjay (9) - California, USA - JAN 28, 2012 does not count
Very misleading. Great label and description, but when it comes down to drink ability this Imperial Stout falls short.
