Bottle from the Best Damn Beer Shop: Poured with a firm yet delicate layer of foamed head while the liquid was a dark honey gold hue that had some evidence of haziness going on. Aroma is completely decked out with a scent of green oily hops that give off some notes of citrus. The flavor is strong of bitter hops and gave me a good buzz plus the price was super cheap. raphael (1288) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 10, 2011
Leather, pine, caramel aromas. light tan head on clear gold-amber body. Just a little flat, with a nice weight to it. A little more malt in the flavor, hint of powdered sugar, plus pine, oak & alcohol. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Draft. Little cloudy, gold colr. Strong floral and pine, decent strong IPA, but nothing subtle here. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 22, 2011
Bomber from Zain’s Liquors, SF. Pretty nice pour, a deep lustrous orange with an initially thick head that settles into crisp scrim. Huge pungent nugs in the nose, with some candied fruits and leafy, floral hops. Mouthfeel is slightly too thin after a bold introduction, but still okay. Flavors are well realized, big and bright and bitter. Nice stuff. jsled (28) - South Burlington, Vermont, USA - NOV 16, 2011

Shared bomber at a recent geek tasting. Poured to a sampler with a hazed, orange/gold, decent, off white head foam, and good cling to the spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was perfumey, fruit, citrus, and resiny pine following up. Ditto on the flavor, with caramelly malt sweetness, "lingering into the finish" hop bitterness & dryness, and a fairly well cloaked alcohol warmth. A presentable DIPA that I’d seek out again. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Bottle:   Orangish with ruby grapefruit like hues, moderate white head, frothy, fairly nice lacing.   Pith and rind on the nose.   Somewhat of an herbal hoppiness up front, very much that orange rind stuff, but a bit sweeter.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Has a decent malt base.   Comes across as a bit old, which is weird because the bottle I had before this was really bright and floral.   This one comes across as having aged for six months, and I just got this bottle!   Not a bad beer, nothing off, but its not a hop bomb type of IIPA.   More malt forward, and aged a bit.   Decent for what it is. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 13, 2011
Bottle served in a tulip. Pours hazy dark orange with a medium sized off white top. Good retention and lace. Big piney, earthy nose with cereal malt in the shadows. Medium sweet flavor, medium plus body, sticky bitter finish. Well hidden heat in this monster ipa. Has some rough edges. Good, but many are better. Bomber from Wooden Keg in Hagerstown, MD. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of resiny and citrus hops. Big aroma... almost sticky. The taste is earthy, citrus and resin hops. Some mango and tropical fruits. Full bodied. All hops with lingering bitterness. Some maltiness is there, but it lacks character. Lingering bitterness. I’d like more balance, but I recognize this is from California, where they don’t like balance. ;) michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 28, 2011
22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus, orange, slight crystal malt, and fruit. Poured amber/orange in color with a small, creamy, dense, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, citrus, tangerine, orange, and a hint of crystal malt. Medium body. Oily, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Medium sweet, medium bitter, hop, tangerine, orange, citrus finish is dry. 9.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout. Too sweet.
