Pretty unassuming and uninspiring to be honest.

2016-05-28. Dark yellow decent beige head and lace. Aroma is lightly fruity yeasty pale malt. Flavour is similar, light fruit, lightly yeasty pale malt. 6/3/6/3/12 On tap at The Green Man, Wellington, NZ. DylansDad (655) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 18, 2015
Very light, watery, lager-ish ale, just like the label says. Flavours are good: predominantly lemon, grass and honey, and if I had the choice between this and steineken artois, I’d choose this in a jiffy. Fortunately though, my choices aren’t so limited. Golden with a white head. Light sweet malts and noticeable earthy hops. Light sweetness. A bit on the sweet side for a refreshing golden ale but good nonetheless.

Bottle from Beer Cellar online store (April 2014). Clear dark golden, thin white head, honey, cut grass, toffee apple, mild bitterness, honey sweetness, oily texture. Bottle a bit old, could probably rate higher if fresh. waiake (606) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 15, 2014
500ml bottle dark gold colour nice aroma but with a tarty weakish watery taste its ok Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 12, 2013
I’ve written time and again how Golden Ale is often a euphemism for lager that masquerades as ale - it appeals to a certain sector of the market that doesn’t know any better and likes beer like it likes its women... flimsy, attractive and lacking in character. I’m tempted to write that about this beer. There is no doubt it is well made. It looks good with golden colour, a persistent white head that goes down to the bottom of the glass and leaves good lace. It smells of light golden malts, lemon juice and gooseberry and tastes similar. The finish is short, forcing you to drink it again to remind yourself that you’re actually having a beer.
Good hot weather beer but otherwise unremarkable. Brodies_Best (269) - Auckland Central, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 4, 2013
500 ml bottle at the food store. Pours cloudy golden with white head. Aroma of sweet malt and yeast. Taste is of sweet banana like a wheat beer. Aftertaste is bitter and then caramel and then burnt sugar. Kind of a girly drink. Light, not much flavour, sweet. omega (900) - NEW ZEALAND - SEP 29, 2013
Very nondescript beer that does little for the palate. Drinkable and for session drinking only.
