UPDATED: OCT 11, 2008 Pleasant malty nose, light on the hops, hints of smokiness, great finish, crisp refreshing beer, I had one and kept ordering them...next time I’ll try some others... joekinty (263) - rockledge, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2008
copper with a nice amount of head slightly hoppy with a nice amount of maltiness with a bit of bready flavor taste good JoeMcPhee (9517) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 31, 2008
Deep amber beer with a thick white head. Aroma is quite malty and sweet. Clean profile with a light floral/noble hoppiness. Sweet and bready tasting with a nice clean finish. Soft caramel and toasted malt with a nice nutty maltiness. Nice brew. MaliMisho (215) - East Meadow, New York, USA - SEP 29, 2007
Had it on tap at Black Forest as part of their sampler. It was a deep copper color, and had a malty aroma. Very enjoyable, but average. Chapel (468) - Levittown, New York, USA - AUG 15, 2007
This pours a very nice copper color. It has a toasted malt kind of flavor and aroma. The finish is somewhat hopped, which is enjoyable, but I can’t help but think that it is hopped to cover up a mistake. Very interesting as I didn’t know Marzens to have much of a hop character.

Beautiful appearance. Just a delightful caramel color with a pleasant head on it. Really, a pretty beer. No aroma. Taste was good but too smokey. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - JUL 8, 2007
Tap at Black Forest. Deep amber in color with a nice fluffy off white head. Caramel and light roasty aroma. Grainy and malty flavor. Light hop taste. Finish is malty. Thin bodied. Decent beer. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2007
sampled at the brewpub. Amber in color, obviously. Aroma is light roast and caramel. Taste is malty and toasty, doesn’t seem to be much in the way of hop presence though. A bit thin bodied and not very exciting. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - APR 24, 2007
Tap @ Black Forest: Poured a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head. The aroma was fairly malty. Malty flavor had some acidity to it.. Semi-dry with a mildly hopped finish. There was a light tartness. Light to medium body. PilsnerPeter (3050) - Flushing, New York, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Nice appearance. Pours a bronzish amber with a creamy thick tan head and tons of dense lacing. Slightly roasty sweet malt aroma, caramel. Flavor also has evident roasty caramel malts. Mild peppery spiceyness and a mild flowery finish. A decent Oktoberfest/Marzen.
