On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a medium sized white head. Sweet grainy malt on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet and grainy. Malt and a touch of alcohol. Warm and malty into the finish. ben4321 (6830) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 28, 2014

Aroma: It has a nose of caramel and bready malts, with a light earthy bitterness
Appearance: Pours a clear amber-orange color, with a small off-white head and drippy lace
Flavor: It is lightly sweet, with a malt forward flavor, and a light-medium bitter finish
Palate: It is lighter bodied, with a fizzy carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish
Solid Amber. Good, not great flavor. This one is certainly drinkable, but it is just not all that exciting. Looks like this got me up to 83 different NY breweries, so that’s kind of cool.
Pours amber with white head. Aroma is toasty caramel. Taste is sweet, light mouthfeel. Chalsk (1104) - North Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - OCT 4, 2011
On tap at the Brewpub. Pours an amber brown color with white head. Caramel flavor with some spicey notes. TomTiedemann (249) - Levittown, New York, USA - DEC 14, 2010
I know my brother in law would give this one a 10 out of 10...and overall 20.. I am a fan of Ambers now because of this beer. Had on tap at BFBH and everytime is is a dark rich color with a lot of flavor. sometimes a smoked taste.

Decent beer. I don’t know why they have this, and another Marzen they break out in the fall. The aroma is very malty, caramel, brown sugar, candy sugar. The appearance is an attractive amber (duh!), white head. The flavor follows the aroma, except maybe the flavor has a slight toasted malt thing I didn’t pick up in the aroma. The finish has a modest hop bittering. The mouthfell is straight down the middle medium. Decent beer overall. Their usual Marzen isn’t as sweet as this. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - APR 27, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head that faded to a film at mid-glass and left a layer of foam with each sip. Weak aroma of malt and not too much else going on. The flavor is that same weak malt followed by a fiarly bitter hoppy finish. The bitterness lingers in the back of the throat briefly beyond the swallow. Very average beer. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2009
Tap at BF. Aroma of bready malt, some woodiness, peppery notes. Flavor doughy malt, balancing bitterness, lots of rich nuts on the back end, definitely the highlight of the brew for me. Pretty good. LilBeerDoctor (4231) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2009
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Poured a very cloudy light brown which may have been because it was the end of the keg...Aroma of sweet malt and oatmeal, perhaps a touch of spices too. Flavor of sweet malt and some toasted notes. Not very flavorful and a bit over-carbonated.

Update 8/3/09: I’ll update my rating since the last sample I had wasn’t quite representative of this beer. Pours a semi-clear orange with a thick off white head, very carbonated. Aroma of generic sweet malt. Flavor of diacetyl and generic sweet malt. Pretty bland actually.
Growler. Pours a darkish amber with a thin white head. Malty aroma, lightly toasted malt. Flavor is malt heavy with a dash of hop bitterness on the end. Not bad.
