Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Big malty notes, caramel, toffee, chocolate in the finish. The alcohol is warming but not hot. The finish is dry. Solid. Skyview (6055) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Sampled from 22-oz bomber, picked up at Three Cellars in Franklin, Wisconsin and at the Great Northern Beer Festival 2012 in Eagle River. Pours a hazy amber brown colored brew with a thick beige head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of dark pitted fruits, floral hops, a hint of molasses, white pepper and lager-like yeast. Taste is full bodied, some extra carbonation with flavors of toasted biscuity caramel malt, some candi sugar, brown banana esters, light hard pitted fruits and some clove. Finish is semi-sweet with a lingering candi sugar and earthy spice aftertaste. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Bottle:   Deep brown, huge overwhelming frothy beige head, way over carbonated... either that or infected.   I think when I tried to split this bottle (22oz), I lost at least 1/4 to 1/3 of it.   Nose of dark pitted
fruity, slightly vinous.   Dark pitted fruit on the tongue, somewhat sweet, bready, very airy and bubbley.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with lots of dark pitted fruit, has a grape popsicle sort of tinge to
it.   Sweeter and more fruiter than most other Belgian Strong Ales.   Very different.   Thanks for the chance to try this one Jason! Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Bomber. Poured clear, deeper ambery-brown with a tall, dense, sticky yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up artificially-sweetened, candied fruits joined by a lot of banana, peppery, and clovey yeast.. sweeter, biscuity malts and a touch of molasses at the core.. tart fruit skins if you dig deep.. not bad, but it was a little messy. The flavor found molasses, toffee, and a blend of fruits at the semi-sweet core.. lots of spicy yeast, dusty banana, and tart fruits throughout.. finished tangy with fruit skins and warm, dry, spicy yeast. Medium-bodied with very high, filling carbonation on the palate.. a few too many sugars, but they nicely smoothed out the alcohol.. this wasn’t great, but there were some very good elements. arkurzynski (2427) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle shared by motortoddhead. Huge carbonation pop off the bottle. Murky brown/red pour with copious yellow/tan head. Aroma is spiced biscuit, yeast, and subtle dark fruit esters. Flavor is toasted malt, biscuit, Belgian candy, spice, overripe fruit, and a whisp of roast malt. Over-carbonation lends a bit of a bite, but not terrible. Also somewhat detracts from the mouthfeel. All-in-all a solid brew.
