3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber color with little head. Earthy sweet aroma. Sweet taste. Mild hoppyness. Actually mild flavor in general. It’s ok. Was expecting more from this.
Burnt orange. Nose of thick resinous hops, citrus, fruit skin, pine, onion, and thick caramel. Flavor is big chewy caramel malt, honey, meaty citrus, and some pine. A touch of buttery diacetyl. Lingering piney resin and some burn. Other than that pretty solid if in the mood for big one. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2015
Draft. Poured clear, honeyed golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and honey malts topped by pine resin and a little orangey citrus.. spicy and warn on the back of the nose. The flavor found peppery and orangey hops over sweet honey and caramel malts.. spicy again on the finish. Heavier-bodied with low-moderate carbonation.. a bit hot. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - FEB 6, 2015
22oz bottle shared by rdixon77, summer 2014. Orange pour with a small khaki head, mild lacing. Sweet aroma, caramel, toffee, mild citrus, lots of maltiness. Sweet flavor, malty, caramel, candied orange, citrus, doughy pale malts. Could be hoppier, a bit sweet. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 13, 2014
Sampled on draught at the Blue Moon bar in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden pale amber with a thick creamy ivory colored head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some thick lacing. Aroma of light biscuit malt, earthy hops and a touch of citrus. Taste is full bodied (and then some), soft carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, some biscuit like malt, earth hops and a touch of grapefruit. Finish is semi-sweet with a weedy and citrus hop aftertaste that lingers for about three minutes. Just as thick and chewy as the Simcoe version. crossovert (14135) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 13, 2014
Draft. Enjoying this more than the S one but who knwos maybe freshness is a factor. The malt extremeties are a bit calmer.

Copper pour with a tall thick white head and some nice lacing. Big sweet caramel aroma lots of fruit grapefruit and a hint of strawberry along with a touch of alcohol. Huge thick mouth feel creamy swallow and warms the way down revelaing that big ABV. Flavor is sweet a little cereal notes and sine dark fruit bits with a lightly bitter finish. rdixon77 (3106) - Georgia, USA - JUL 24, 2014
Dark orange-red pour. Very sweet aroma with lots of caramel and maltiness. Taste comes through with plenty of that honey sweetness. Citrus peel, other tropical fruits, and almost a slight heat are present as well. Smooth, oily, and full bodied. Interesting (and sweet) imperial IPA.
