Das Bier riecht nach Kaffee mit deutlichen Röstaromen. Man erkennt auch Schwarzbrot und Schokolade. Geschmack dann sehr sich mit angenehmer Bittere. Leichter Einschlag nach Porridge. Schon rund.

Oakes (18851) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 11, 2014
Dark brown. Aroma is chocolatey/fudgey, with oaty notes and some dark sugars. Fairly full body, sweet taste is chocolatey and with a slight nuttiness. Good dessert stout, with a subtle balancing bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of IBrew2or3. Cheers, Dave! Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is some roast, some leather, some light coffee and some yeast. Flavor is similar with roast, old coffee, leather, and cocoa. Light in body and interesting overall.

maekchu (4054) - Hirakata, JAPAN - DEC 25, 2013
Bottle from AEON Mall Kumiyama. Big creamy chocolate nose, with soft coffee and licorice notes. Dark translucent brown. Smooth light chocolate initial / dark sugar and some touches of berries / ends with mild bitterness. Medium body. A bit light for a stout. Exceptionally smooth. Not bursting with flavors, but moderate and pleasant.

alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Bottle, in Scotland 2011. Poured a dark brown to black color with not much head. Aroma of oats, roasted malt, caramel, fruit/dark fruit, and some sweetness. Flavor had some sweetness, oaty, chalky, with some roasted malt, earth, and fruit. A solid beer.

Nuffield (4199) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Quite sweet! When I tried it, it’s style was unclear, and I wrote in my notes, "good porter...or a good stout". Well rounded with chocolate and fun roasted notes. But, yes, very sweet. A bit thicker than most UK stouts. Very good. (cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival, Edinburgh, June 2012)

3.3
esox (1226) - Oulu, FINLAND - JUL 20, 2012
Bottled. Cola-like, dark brown colour. Medium-sized tan head is slightly diminishing. Dark malty aroma has notes of toasted bread, dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, raisins, ripe plums and grassy hops. Somewhat malty aroma with moderate sweetness of reduced wort and dryish, moderately bitter finish. Slick, smooth texture, slightly thin body for the strength.

Bottle. Pours black with a tinge of red with a beige head thaty doesn’t linger long. Caramel and malt on the nose. Sweet, creamy caramel taste with a dry finish. Nice smooth mouthfeel.
