(Bottle, as "Smoked Oktobeer") Black colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly smoky nose with notes of liquorice, chocolate, anise, salmiac, dried fruit, some peat and a gentle juniper twig smoke aroma. Malty, roasted, slightly smoky taste with dark chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit, coffee, anise, juniper twigs and a finish with a mild smoke touch and a gentle bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, with a balanced smoke touch. Nice one.

thmsboyd (206) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JAN 6, 2016
330mL bottle BBE: 15.12.15. Medium chill (around 10 degrees). Pours a deep, dark, almost black body with reddish hue. The head is medium-small, but well-retained, with a fawn-tan head. Great lacing. Prominent smoked character on the nose, with a particularly meaty character, including strong notes of smokey bacon. Darker tobacco and coffee notes linger in the background. A moderate, gamy sweetness is only partially counteracted in a bitter, chocolatey finish. Full-medium bodied with a slick texture, low-medium carbonation and a lasting, smokey finish. Heavily smoked and far from subtle, what this lacks in complexity it makes up for in impact. Thoroughly enjoyable.
